Volare Volante

Post by Ian Fitzpatrick »

Just driven home from the New Forest where I heard on Radio 2 that Ian Volante, of Edinburgh, hates the song Volare because his teacher used to take the mickey with it.

Vaguely related, apparently Ken mentioned on Countdown in April that there had been rumours on Wikipedia about a range of garden gnomes modelled on him. That was a fake edit I added to Wikipedia some time in 2009 (I think), I'm rather impressed that it lasted so long! :)

I think the crucial bit is early on. If you make an edit, it comes up as a recent edit, and they get looked at a lot, so if it survives the early stages then it's more likely to pull through.

I also made it as plausible as possible with a genuine link in there and decent spelling.

Haha, seriously? I'm pretty sure I recapped this game (a Monday one) and I remember him saying it and sure enough I checked the wiki page and it was there even though Ken denied it on the show. Not sure I mentioned it in the recap at the time though but I think it's cool that yo uare the source of that comment!
