Judging from how you've seen them do on apterous who do you think should apply for the show?
Only one though.
Application from Apterous
Re: Application from Apterous
I think Callum Laddiman was the highest rated player I could find who i dont think has applied to be on the show yet.Eoin Monaghan wrote:Judging from how you've seen them do on apterous who do you think should apply for the show?

Having said that, If he waited a while im guessing he could get even better, so theres a reason for him not to apply.
It would be nice if users could tick a box saying weather they had or had not been on the show on their account settings so I could compare myself to the other users who hadnt been on the show more easily

It doesn't mean shit though Jack if you think about it. On a weekly basis you can watch amazing players and awful players on the show, and obviously there are also both amazing and awful players who have not been on the show. So being on the TV version really means absolutely nothing that you could compare to. Of course you could argue that it's far more likely the good players from the show will end up on apterous, and the crap ones will lose interest, but even so, you'd need a 'TV record' stat like wins/total appearances, and even then you're talking about a basically historical reference point that might bear absolutely no relevance to that player's current ability.JackHurst wrote:It would be nice if users could tick a box saying weather they had or had not been on the show on their account settings so I could compare myself to the other users who hadnt been on the show more easily

I understand your point that there are good and crap players who have never been on apterous who will go on the show. The point about players who are good on the show finding apterous and players who arent so good losing interest is also good.Matt Morrison wrote:It doesn't mean shit though Jack if you think about it. However, I still think it would mean something, because it would provide a usefulness for some people. Players who intend to go on the show and do quite well might want to refer to the best players on apterous to see which ones could pop up as rivals in the series they might want to apply for themselves.
For example, say in a years time i've improved quite a lot and i am roughly as good as someone like Jimmy gough, I would like to see the list of apterous users who haven't been on the show to see which ones are great. If there were about 4 or so who i thought were better players than me, I might wait to apply until i get better, or until the better players have gone on. If on the other hand, I am the best player by a long shot (Never gonna happen) who has not been on the show, then i'd feel confident enough to apply with a good chance of doing well in the series.
The argument that there will always bee good players who haven't seen apterous sort of crushes my argument, but i think in the future, probably about 70% of the very best players will be grown on apterous, so If i knew that I was the best or not the best amongst the apterous players, id have a good indication of the likely quality of players who would be challenging me for the title.

You're thinking far too much. I thought like this, worrying when I wasn't getting max games all the time that I'd be beaten when I went on the show. You just have to keep practising, have confidence in your ability and go for it. Chances are if you're getting around 10 maxes consistently you're going to do bloody well on the show.JackHurst wrote:I understand your point that there are good and crap players who have never been on apterous who will go on the show.
