After 7 years away, FOCAL finally returns to the eponymous York in 2026!

Refreshments: Various snacks will be provided, but please provide your own drinks.

Format:

We will be playing Lincoln style games. All competitors will be drawn into groups of three at the start of the day for Round 1 and you will play everyone in your group once in 9-round games (6L 2N 1C). Three more rounds follow where your opponents will be your neighbours in the standings at that point so don’t worry if you have a tough start. At the end of the three rounds our top two will face off in the final. Remember the aim is to have fun and there will be plenty of prizes on offer that anyone could take home.

Rough timetable for the day:

Doors open: 10.00am
Welcome/Round 1 Draw: 10.45am
Round 1: 11am
Round 2: 12.10pm
Lunch and Quiz: 1.20pm
Round 3: 2.30pm
Round 4: 3.40pm
Final: 5pm
Prizegiving: 5.30pm
Post-event group meal plans: TBC

Public transport:

The venue is a 20 minute walk from York station, which is serviced by LNER, CrossCountry, TransPennine and Northern trains, as well as a Park and Ride service for those not wishing to drive into the city.
