Rhys: SALMONID (8)
Tim: DOMAINES (8)
DC: SEMOLINA (8)
OT: LAMINOSE (8) MELANOID (8)

Rhys: ELATING (7)
Tim: GENITAL (7)
DC: GELATIN (7)

C1: -
C2: 584. (((4 + 1) × 5 × 3) − 2) × 8 (7)
RR: 580. (((2 + 8) × 3) − 1) × 4 × 5 (7)
Score: 15–22 (max 23)
First blood to our third seed Tim and seven valuable points...............this first lead could be the most important in this grand final...........Rachel has said that 1 away is as good as it gets

Teatime teaser: TINHOUSE -> OUTSHINE
Round 4: R H G E O U A T R
Rhys: OUTRAGE (7)
Tim: outrager
DC: TROUGHER (8)
Score: 22–22 (max 31)
Our no 1 seed Rhys hits straight back with his 7 Outrage and levels up this contest.......sadly Tim his word Outrager disallowed by Susie as you cannot be an outrager.........over in DC they get to shine with their eight........Trougher

Round 5: E O E J D N S T W
Rhys: JONESED (7)
Tim: DENOTES (7)
DC: DENOTES (7)
OT: DOWNEST (7) TOWNEES (7)
Score: 29–29 (max 38)
Sevens all round from our grand finalists and DC.................one of those is appropriate as our no 1 seed Rhys surname is Jones..........I wonder if he has a strong desire to be champion of Series 91 or will it be Tim ?
Jonesed:to have a strong desire or craving for something
Round 6: 100, 9, 3, 4, 2, 7. Target: 931.
C1: 931. ((100 + 3) × 9) + 4 (10)
C2: 931. ((100 + 4) × 9) − (7 − 2) (10)
Score: 39–39 (max 48)
A piece of piss this numbers game...............hmmmmm....I would rather count sheep instead !

Round 7: O E U R C B N A T
Rhys: COURANTE (8)
Tim: COURANTE (8)
DC: COURANTE (8)
Score: 47–47 (max 56)
Our grand finalists and DC coming trumps with the old Countdown favourite Courante............this was one that I spotted !

Round 8: F D V E A U A P G
Rhys: vagued
Tim: vagued
DC: FUDGE (5) GUAVA (5) GAPED (5)
OT: PAVAGE (6)
Score: 47–47 (max 62)
Both grand finalists draw a blank in this round as Susie says no to their sixes...............a couple of foodie type fives offered by DC a rather healthy looking Guava and a not so healthy Cadburys fudge..........make up your mind and let me know which of those you prefer !

Round 9: 10, 10, 2, 4, 8, 6. Target: 614.
C1: 614. (10 × 10 × 6) + 8 + 4 + 2 (10)
C2: 614. (10 × 10 × 6) + 8 + 4 + 2 (10)
Score: 57–57 (max 72)
Another easy one for our grand finalists that bags them ten points each..............watching paint dry or counting sheep is my idea of fun !

Rhys: BROMINE (7)
Tim: BROMINE (7)
DC: MINIBAR (7)

Rhys: OUTLANDER (18)
Tim: OUTLANDER (18)

Round 12: V H S E E O T G I
Rhys: EGOTISE (7)
Tim: EGOTISE (7)
DC: EIGHTS (6)
OT: THIEVES (7) VESTIGE (7)
Score: 89–89 (max 104)

Round 13: E U I W R F L D A
Rhys: FAILURE (7)
Tim: warfield
OT: DIREFUL (7)
Score: 96–89 (max 111)
What a way to blow this Grand Final wide open, our 3rd seed Tim didn't need to gamble his 8 Warfield which is specified as two words......that is disallowed by Susie

Our top seed Rhys gets to score with his 7 Failure which was my spot.........all Tim needs is maximum points in the next round....to keep this grand final alive and force a possible crucial conundrum..........let's see how he goes on !
Round 14: 50, 25, 75, 100, 2, 3. Target: 952.
C1: 952. ((75 ÷ 25) × 3 × 100) + 50 + 2 (10)
C2: 950.
Score: 106–89 (max 121)
Sadly not for Tim it is game over for him........this can only mean one thing that he is the runner up of Series 91.............and with Rhys scoring maximum points in the numbers game he is the champion of Series 91

Round 15: T R U E C R I S P
No one buzzes. The answer was SCRIPTURE.
Final Score: 106–89 (max 131)
So the conundrum goes unsolved it is left Susie to solve it and much to my annoyance my Hubby ! but what a fantastic final this has been firstly congratulations to Rhys on becoming it's 91st Champion and the latest recipient of the Richard Whiteley memorial trophy and a state of the art laptop.........secondly commiserations to Tim on becoming it's 91st runner up......he won't be going away empty handed he will receive a state of the art tablet as his runners up prize............who knows maybe in the future we may see these guys compete in a future COC.........you can join me for the start of series 92 when the search is on for it's next champion in the meantime.........it is bye for now !

Just for fun............this is what happens when hubby beats me on a round of Countdown !
