Apterous music
Do you listen to music while you play apterous, or does silence help your concentration? Do you listen to the default apterous theme or something else?
My personal preference is minimal techno.

Usually have the radio on, sometimes a random selection from my hard drive suffices, so that could be anything apart from more obscure ethnic music, but if our lass is in the room then I'm stuck with telly more often than not.

Re: Apterous music
I always turn music off if I need to concentrate on anything. So if I'm playing an important game I'll do it in silence. For the rest of the time I usually have Spotify hitting me up with something embarrassing.
I tried revising to music when I was younger and it caused a massive reduction in my ability to focus on and remember what I was reading. I'm sure this is the reason that so many undergraduates spend 12 hours a day in the library during exam term, when they could do the same work in half the time if they could bear to switch their iPods off.

If it's any consolation, over 300 full-rated users have the in-game music turned onPhil Reynolds wrote: This may come as a surprise to some of you but I have feelings.

Re: Apterous music
The music in Apterous helps let you know when you're running out of time, but I find it annoying in quick (like 10 seconds) rounds. But sometimes the game freezes for a while at the start of a round and when it starts again, a lot of the time has gone but the music starts from the beginning so it's no use then.

Perhaps interesting article in light of our techno fan who started the thread:

Myself, I tend to have iTunes running anyway, so I just leave that on.

The original was sung by Matthew Wilder. But I wouldn't listen to that in play - it reminds me of soya milk. Much prefer, oh I dunno, the Countdown clock music instead.
