Spoilers For Wednesday August 25th 2010

Post by James Robinson »

Midweek is here, and we have a new champion, but I was always going to say that, wasn't I :?:

He goes by the name of Peter Godwin, and he seemed pretty comfortable while on his way to victory yesterday, probably helped by Matt's early nerves. But can he win in the champions' chair :?:

I'll be along with the recap tomorrow, as I'm out to the see the mighty Terriers hopefully not stick to the Toffees of Everton at Goodison Park tonight in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup. 8-) :D

So, there'll be a Robinson Recap double tomorrow, instead. ;) :) :D  8-)

9x(7+6)x4x2-3 = 933 for the last numbers.

Jack: "I think this Bruce is gonna be an Octochamp".... WRONG!!!!
He did look very good to begin with. Good enjoyable game today, Bruce was a bit unlucky with that last numbers and his "7" in round one. Peter seems like a nice chap, he likes to chat, which I think is charming.
Jack and I couldn't make sense of the clue to the second teaser, could anyone shed some light on our stupidity?

Ah, thanks for that! I was left clueless too but I thought it was a reference to some old pop group that me being young would have no idea about.

I see the challenger Bruce Lambert had previously been on before and won. I'm now confused. Why was he allowed another go?

Does this mean that Damian has once again changed the reappearance rule he last changed in July last year (see link below)

If so, I'd better dust off my Countdown application form again.

The Official rule is that nobody is allowed on the show again unless they went on when they were under 18 and lost. If this guy was only 12 when he went on the first time, it must have been at least 9/10 years ago.

It explicitly says on the application form in big bold letters that you can't reapply at all, so I am assuming Bruce was contacted by someone from the show.

But he won his first show, so that seems to be slightly contradictory to me. :?

So did Hulme....that means his 930 record isn't valid - suits me! :P

In all seriousness though, Damian is the producer and he doesn't have to create a "rule" - he can use his own discretion to decide if he wants to allow ex-youngsters back to appear once as an adult.

Erm, I think you'll find Andrew lost his first show to Michael Calder in Series 42, before winning 2 in that junior tournament in the middle of Series 47.

Whereas Bruce's only win in his 4 shows was in his very first appearance at the start of Series 43.

I think he should get another go in series 64, seemed like a decent good looking young man.
