Spoilers For Tuesday May 18th 2010
So, we are now on the 2nd day of Countdown, sponsored by Wellwoman multi-biotic whatevers.... , which joins the long list weirdly wonderful sponsors the show has had, including The Times newspaper, Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil, Lyon's Corner House Cakes, Specsavers, and of course, Ibuleve. Makes you wonder how and who chooses these sponsors Oh well, back to the matter in hand.
Apteforumite Danny Pledger is still the champ, can he last until this time next week, or will the champions' chair merry-go-round return to maximum velocity in a few hours time
I think Ryan will be doing the recap later.
And hopefully, the mighty Huddersfield Town will do some lion-bashing tonight (not in the literal sense of course), when they take on Millwall in the 2nd leg of their play-off semi-final at the New Den tonight.
Here's hoping for Wembley.

The target audience of old people, and Channel 4 advertising execs, respectively, I'd guess. Students don't have any money remember so no point advertising to them.James Robinson wrote:So, we are now on the 2nd day of Countdown, sponsored by Wellwoman multi-biotic whatevers.... , which joins the long list weirdly wonderful sponsors the show has had, including The Times newspaper, Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil, Lyon's Corner House Cakes, Specsavers, and of course, Ibuleve. You're only saying that so someone else can make a cheesy Meakin-style joke and say that your guess was fruitless. Well, we're not going to rise to your bait.Marc Meakin wrote: Thought conundrum was resistful.

Oh well, I'm sure if Derek was still posting, he may have said something like 'If you're FRUIT LESS than maybe U R LESS FIT.'Matt Morrison wrote:You're only saying that so someone else can make a cheesy Meakin-style joke and say that your guess was fruitless. Re: Spoilers For Tuesday May 18th 2010
ELICITOR as a beater in round 9 and CATENA as a beater in round 12.
Danny could have added UN- to his SEXIER for 8 but it didn't matter in the end. Also I know it's hard doing the numbers in the studio but I'd already put 10 points on to the challenger's score for the 199 and the 277 and he missed both - I was super shocked.
2x100+75+50/25 or indeed 6x50-25+2 or any combination. Not sure how he reached 272 though.

Re: Spoilers For Tuesday May 18th 2010
The only way I've worked out is (((6 x 100) - 50) / 2) - (75 / 25), which is well farfetched, especially if he added the 3, he'd have been nearer the target.Kirk Bevins wrote:Not sure how he reached 272 though.
He probably just worked it out wrong.
