thanks ytv!
Emma and Dinos here, got in not long since from the finals, had a really good time!even though we only saw the final, we had a great time. met some brilliant people ( hoping no mathematical geniuses can translate this into some kind of spoilerism)-
* All of the O'Donnell clan, especially the legendary Aunty Rosie, that woman can drink!Don't worry about the young ones, we got home fine!Hope the same can be said for you
*Marcel and the missus, who were STELlar characters (haha, plays on words are effective after a free bar)
*Michael and his wife Celia-very friendly and a proper laugh, we'll be thinking about you on the 16th. And we were astounded by Celia's beautiful voice when she sang the 3 sisters song
*Jason Cullen- really nice to meet you and your family.
*Plus all the other finalists who we'd like to have talked to more.
*All the production team and Damian- really nice to see you all again, thanks for the hospitality

Hey, sounds like everyone had fun. Ijust logged on to wish everyone good luck for the finals, but clearly that ship has sailed. Looking forward to watching them as I haven't seen much of this series, and hopefully there are some high quality matches to come.

Stop typing so loud - it's hurting my head. Great day, though. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the message, Dinos.

Moreover, you've given away that DO'D didn't fly into a mad rage when an opponent chose a consonant after PRORATES came out, destroying the studio before the finals could conclude (and carrying Susie off to his secret Irish lair).

Lightweights.... pfft...
Indeed I had a great time, was great fun
And free champers was a LOVELY end to the day... i got through 7 glasses before I set off.
Kate's response to last orders was fantastic "can i have the bottle"?

Only 7? Who's the lightweight Mr Hanks?! It wasn't me who spotted the un-popped champagne being taken out the room and I merely assisted by opening it.... i think, though the end of the evening has become a little hazy. Great night. Great week, in fact. xBenji Hanks wrote:Lightweights.... pfft...

So, what exactly happened a little while ago?
Also, I'd like to talk to Kate and ask her how she's doing. I haven't heard from her in a while!

Re: thanks ytv!
Was really going to avoid Countdown for about a month but I noticed this thread and thought I better show my appreciation. The entire O'Donnell/O'Kane clan had a great time and each went away with a very high opinion of the Countdown team as well as the other contestants and their friends/families. I don't want to go into detail in case it gets interpreted as a spoiler but just to say it was an wondrous experience made all the more so by the people with whom it was shared.
PS I don't think I am spoiling anything when I tell you all that I got beat by Jason Cullen

Re: thanks ytv!
I had a fantastic time and enjoyed meeting everybody. Would have loved to have stayed and indulged a bit more but I couldn't get the following day off from work so had to leave early and drive home. My friends and family had a great time too - my mate who had his picture taken next to Carol can't stop talking about it! And may I say I thought she, Des and Dr.Phil were very obliging about autographs etc.

Care to furnish us with some more examples from your vast archive Gev?I tend to find people say that when they haven't won. Congratulations David.
Weird observation, especially if you read David's post in this thread specifically stating that he and his family had a great time also.

Re: thanks ytv!
I think Gevin's onto something here with this enjoyment=losing thesis. Richard Brittain is a prime example. He won the series and looked like he hated every minute of it!Damian E wrote:Care to furnish us with some more examples from your vast archive Gev?I tend to find people say that when they haven't won. Re: thanks ytv!
OK, point taken, but sometimes you just get a feeling based on the way people say things. I remember in the CofC that Graham Nash won, a few posts made me think that Julian Fell was not going to win and Graham himself came along cockily posting his odds for everyone winning.Damian E wrote:Weird observation, especially if you read David's post in this thread specifically stating that he and his family had a great time also.
Re: thanks ytv!
To be honest Gev, i think most of us were all that bladdered that we cannot remember who won

Right enough!? It simply takes oodles of campari and soda to get you pissed.
