Spoilers For Wednesday September 30th 2009
Another day in the Countdown studios.
Another new champion: George Raison
Another new challenger: Beverley Jones on (the aforementioned mayoress of the Ribble Valley, who I mentioned in the General about a month ago.)
Another day of John Inverdale in DC.
That's the basics done and dusted.
Hopefully, something much more interesting will be posted below.
All sounds familiar, doesn't it![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)

Yep. And if someone slags you off in the next post it will have an even more familiar ring about it.
Edit: Oh. I've already broken that haven't I.

There was some relevance. When Ben said "spoil away" I Google Image'd "spoiled milk" and got that picture! Most odd.Liam Tiernan wrote:Thank you, Matt. My lunch is now well and truly spoilt.

Hmmm. A true spoiler. Not dragging myself away from Countdown has caused me to burn a quiche. In the spirit of random slagging off - I'll blame you for that, James.

I have no idea why people would want to post spoilers in the wrong thread. Most anal.

R11: Morrison beats DC shocker!
BIENNIA, the plural of BIENNIUM (two years).
Admittedly I had to check as I couldn't remember whether it was DIENNIA^ or BIENNIA, but hey.

Cracking game by the way. George has been spotting some good words these past couple of days.

HARTALS as a reasonably nice equaller with WRAITHS. I was once chatting with a Bangladeshi guy who was greatly surprised that I knew what a hartal was, I didn't let on that I'd only read it from the dictionary.

I looked them up in my dictionary and no can do, John.John Bosley wrote:unlapped - unzapped ??
Plenty of words missed, although I think some were cut out to save time.
These are some I got:
Round 2 - FUDGES and EXODUS
Round 3 - REMOTES and STOMPER
Round 4 - CAGIEST
Round 6 - REASON and SENORA
Round 8 - SHARIA
(I won't bother with the mass of 6's in Round 11)
2 alternatives for 3rd numbers (although there are plenty):
25 - 9 = 16
16 x 10 = 160
5 + 3 - 7 = 1
160 - 1 = 159
The way I did it at the studio:
7 x 25 = 175
10 + 9 - 3 = 16
175 - 16 = 159

I think somebody should start a "James Robinson in the studio" thread

Brilliant!
Oh, your SHARIA in round 8 could be extended to SHARIAT in round 13. Exciting times.
