Re: Letters Attack Tournament
Corby/Carson is an insane first round draw.
Re: Letters Attack Tournament
I haven't really played apterous for quite a while, and due to those mysterious personal circumstances I keep alluding to I haven't really watched the show properly (ie playing along fully) since it started back again last week. Probably my driest Countdown spell in four years or so, so I wouldn't expect it to be too close! I kinda wish I'd done what Kirk did, that is to get a bit scared knowing you're gonna get tonked, and just hang back until all 16 places had been filled and then go "aw shucks, just missed out, I really wanted to do this". But then it'd have probably been as transparent as his attempt.Ben Wilson wrote:Corby/Carson is an insane first round draw.

I beat Oliver Garner, but I lost the link and I think Apterous deleted our game, so you'll have to take my word for it.

I can take Junaid's place if no one else wants it.
Re: Letters Attack Tournament
You can.
Re: Letters Attack Tournament
Actually, fuck off, I was here first. I'll take Junaid's place. And then Charlie can take the vacant place left by me. And play Innis.Ian Dent wrote:You can.

Actually I think you'll find I was the first person to reply saying I'd just missed out so I should be first on the waiting list. Since you never even asked me you can fuck off. I don't want to play.

No. Still looking for someone who would want to employ a hot young man who can add up numbers less than 10 without using his fingers.Jon Corby wrote:Have you got another job yet Kirky baby?

Re: Letters Attack Tournament
So which of you fucks gets to beat me; Corby?
Re: Letters Attack Tournament
Ha, I was only kidding. I'll let Innis beat me. Charlie seems to have explicitly blagged it, although I think Kirk has a reasonable claim to the spot, but it ain't my tournament so I'unno.Matt Morrison wrote:So which of you fucks gets to beat me; Corby?

Oh right, you're already in it, I get it! So why do you need to apologise for implying that you'd enjoy spending time with me more than you would with Innis? Re: Letters Attack Tournament
after 13 rounds: Matt Morrison 12 - 81 Charlé Reams
final 7 rounds: Matt Morrison 82 - 51 Charlie Reams
So overall Charlie goes through. THROUGH TO THE LIST OF TOP NAMES WHO I HAVE THRASHED IN THE LAST SEVEN ROUNDS OF A LETTERS ATTACK TODAY.

Carson 144 - 136 Corby
About as close as a game could get, an iffy disallowance turned out to be crucial and I managed to squeak by. Unlucky Jon, great game.

Re: Letters Attack Tournament
Really cool game. I ballsed up a bit with the disallowed 9 as I didn't take all the 30 seconds even though I knew it was a bit iffy and there would likely be a better one, but dead exciting for Innis to take the lead for the first time in the 19th round (17 tied rounds!)Innis Carson wrote:Carson 144 - 136 Corby

Lead exchanged hands a few times and went down to a tie-break conundrum. Very enjoyable game plus I learnt some dudey new words like SHAKUDO. Thanks Aaron

Karen Pearson 117 - 101 Ian Volante
Very pleasant, close game. We'd both have been hammered by most other contestants so I looked forward to the slaughter of the next round!
Edit: Good job Ian also posted it as my link doesn't seem to be clickable! Doubtless I have done something wrong!

It's cup style knockout, rounds aren't re-drawn. You'll be playing Charlie who beat me. (Not Junaid.)Karen Pearson wrote:Have we had the draw for the next round yet? I rather fancy getting the humiliation out of the way!

They definitely do a new draw for each round of the FA Cup. I may be a girl but I like football and sometimes tune in specially for the draw (usually only in the early stages though as I support Leeds!).Oliver Garner wrote:Ian Dent wrote: It will be an FA Cup style random knockout tournament.
