I expect better attention to detail, Dinos. They don't equal me until 14th June.
James, I'll never forget meeting you as I climbed off set after the rollercoaster of my first game. So nice to to be congratulated by a familiar voice and face, even if I couldn't recall your name at that moment.
I was wondering which distinguished Countdownian I might share a birthday with - I couldn't have chosen anyone better!

Not a problem, Clive. That match against Nilesh was quite a game, considering that start you had. I was just disappointed not to be able to stick around to see your match against Innis. Now, that was a match and a half!

FTR, next year's is very significant.
That's OK, Clive! I have 4 sons, but only one daughter, so I'm used to being in a minority!
Indeed, Clare's stoic resolve under fire is certainly something to live up to, should I ever appear on the show.
Birthday card from the Queen next year for you, is it?

That's OK, Lorraine! I hope that Ian takes you somewhere nice tonight.
I hope that I've gleaned correctly that Ian is your actual BF, Jon's fantasy notwithstanding!

She's coming to my pub quiz, not sure if that counts as nice!

I don't think theres going to be anyone called Jason Jason or Howard Howard etc. If there is, then the parents must've been real lazy to come up with a name for their child .
I know of a 'Joyce Joyce' - that's just a marriage misfortune of course, but I do also know of a 'George George'. The parents were ferrari driving, helicopter owning types and George George had an almost full sized play-fort in the 5 acre garden. So I think his name was an 'up their own arse' type thing.

Blimey - over 15 months between Joseph's post and Sue's reply. That must be a record, surely?
For what it's worth, my maternal grandfather was called Thomas Thomas. This kind of thing was quite common in parts of Wales until the early 20th century.

Brilliant. I might have set a record. Can you check that out for me, please, Derek??

Well, I don't care about the dates on posts. If you're a late reader of a certain thread, and you've got something interesting, relevant, or funny to say on the subject, then I would much rather you post in the same thread than start new ones on the same subject.
This is a great site for dipping in and out of when you've got quiet periods, and one thread on each thing makes it easier for everyone, and cuts down on duplicate questions being asked.

I very much doubt if anyone would disagree with you, Dez. But Sue's question about whether her reply sets a record is still valid. No idea how you'd go about checking it out though.

The easiest way to check it, and it could be done very quickly, is to prove that it's not a record by finding a very old post and replying to it.

Thank you Phil. Dezzy has to learn that he can't just doff and don his statsmeister hat willy-nilly.
