Poll: Awesome Person Award
So as the clock of apterous strikes 1, it's time to recognise the people who really make this place and that one what it is. This is the first of several polls to give you the opportunity to vote for the people you feel bring the most to the world of online Countdown. This poll is independent of any particular skill at the game; you can vote for people because of what they bring to the site (or this one), because of their witty banter in aptochat, or because you've occasionally knocked one out to their user avatar. The choice is yours.
In keeping with the traditional apterous governance principles of benevolent dictatorship, I picked the nominations myself. I've deliberately excluded people who actually work on the show because they contribute far more than the rest of us could ever hope to, so sorry about that. Apart from that, you can agree with my selection or GFY, your choice.
NB Vote for as many of them as you like.

Re: Poll: Awesome Person Award
is this a sly dig for not updating the help section in a long time?
Would have liked to have voted for you Charlie but obviously you can't nominate yourself.

Re: Poll: Awesome Person Award
Can we have a most ubiquitous but mediocre person award? I think I'd be close to that one.

Corby would get my vote (or at least one of them) but first I'd need to see evidence of the third of his quoted attributes. I can't take the word of someone else that what he is collecting is indeed "quality".

He showed me a porno in which the actress looked like Carol Vorderman. Having just remembered that, I know who I'm voting for...Howard Somerset wrote:Corby would get my vote (or at least one of them) but first I'd need to see evidence of the third of his quoted attributes. Personally I think they're all brilliant and would like to give them all one big huggy. Someone's probably going to misquote this!

If it makes you feel better, I voted for you Jono - for no better reason than that I had no real expectations of what you'd be like before I met you, and then you turned out to be really really nice.Jon O'Neill wrote:Does this mean I'm generally the least awesome person around?

Oooooooooh - tough one. Persuasive arguments for all of them! It's nice to know JC isn't interested in average porn (or does he just not collect it? )

Re: Poll: Awesome Person Award
You're right actually that 'average porn' doesn't interest me anymore - the internet has completely ruined porn (and sex to a degree). But that's another topic.Lesley Hines wrote:Oooooooooh - tough one. Persuasive arguments for all of them! It's nice to know JC isn't interested in average porn (or does he just not collect it? )

Re: Poll: Awesome Person Award
I think i'm going to have to vote for myself to avoid the ignominy of coming last. Either that, or I'm going to have to start posting pornography on the Countdown Page!

Re: Poll: Awesome Person Award
I voted for everyone, so I suppose I voted for no-one really, but I think everyone on the shortlist is awesome. Couldn't you have included some universal hate figure like Hitler or Des O'Connor so I could at least finish well in front of someone?

Re: Poll: Awesome Person Award
I moved my vote so that three people were tied on 13. I'm sure this wasn't the point.
