Re: Spoilers for Friday June 5th
First numbers, what I'd call an 'easier' option (based on x10):
75-9 = 66
6+4 = 10
3x2 = 6
(66 x 10) - 6 = 654
75-9 = 66
6+4 = 10
3x2 = 6
(66 x 10) - 6 = 654

Thought OBLIQUE was a quality spot from Jacqueline. Think it could be a close one today.

Yeah I was impressed with TIRESOME, being that it was a lot less obvious than ROOMIEST.Dinos Sfyris wrote:Thought OBLIQUE was a quality spot from Jacqueline. Think it could be a close one today.

Kate Richardson would have been fuming at her TV in round 3 (?) when LGBT came out in the wrong order. The fascists.

Re: Spoilers for Friday June 5th
alternate 2nd numbers:
50 x 10 = 500
3 x 2 x 8 = 48
500 - 48 - 3 = 449
50 x 10 = 500
3 x 2 x 8 = 48
500 - 48 - 3 = 449

Oh no! Chris, was well expecting you to be an Octochamp, you're much better than that.
Think playing it a bit safe cost you there (particularly with MATRICES). Well never mind, at least you enjoyed yourself, that's the main thing.

Bad luck Chris. I enjoyed watching your run though, and you lost to a very nice lady - I chatted to Jacqueline and her husband while I was at the studios.

YAUPON round 6 as a DC beater.

Re: Spoilers for Friday June 5th
What a tense game, and what a shame that Chris had to come up against such a strong player as Jacqueline on his third show. Two days after Chris's games were recorded, I found myself sitting next to him in the audience for the semis and the final, and very good company he was too.

Re: Spoilers for Friday June 5th
Ouch bad luck Chris. Thought she was gonna run you close but have to admit that I thought you'd be okay going into the last numbers ahead as you seemed to have the edge over her . I feel slightly responsible after tipping you for octochampdom in Thursday's recap. I have a habit of doing that...
That said, Jacqueline looks like an excellent player although maybe a little inconsistent on the numbers (if you can make such an observation after one game). I tip her to become the first octochamp of series 61.
Sorry Jacqueline

At least it was a close game! . She was lovely as well, so although gutted watching myself miss a few easy rounds, I was happy for her. Willing her to be an octo! heheJon Corby wrote:Ouch bad luck Chris. Cheers Phil . Think I might make an appearance in the audience for the series 61 finals. Its close to home in Manchester now, so I wont have to sleep on any more park benches! haha. Hopefully a fair few from the forum will go along!Phil Reynolds wrote:What a tense game, and what a shame that Chris had to come up against such a strong player as Jacqueline on his third show. Re: Spoilers for Friday June 5th
A rather silly solution to the first numbers game, but it illustrates a useful trick:
((75 / 3) * 4 + 9) * 6 = 654
I always think the division operator gets short shrift, so I take every chance to use it.
