Game of the Week Nominations 18-24 Jan
Game of the Week Nominations 18-24 Jan
Not sure if there should be a separate thread for this every week, or just one master thread. It's easier for me to keep track of with separate threads but I don't want them cluttering up the board.
Anyway, nominate away! Remember next week's game of the week includes games played on THIS Sunday (the 18th)

To have a word disallowed and still set a new record is pretty insane. Round 12 is a particular highlight, I personally didn't know there was such a word.

Record or no record, four niners in a row is a highlight in anyone's book.Charlie Reams wrote:To have a word disallowed and still set a new record is pretty insane. Round 12 is a particular highlight, I personally didn't know there was such a word.

161, despite not scoring in 2 rounds. As all the cool kids would say, that is SICK. Paul, are you in fact Jack Bauer?
Re: Game of the Week Nominations 18-24 Jan
I was actually a little disappointed with that as a perfect game was there for the taking if I'd been a little sharper. One day, one day....
And none of these Jack Bauer facts are true of me, so I have to reluctantly conclude I'm not Jack Bauer. Which is just as well as I'd quite like to use the bogs at some point in the next 24 hours.

I think Jono was just making a point, that game is from ages ago and is still the only perfect Speedgoat.Jimmy wrote:Awesome! That gets my vote already.Jon O'Neill wrote:You ain't worth shit until you've got a perfect game.

Re: Game of the Week Nominations 18-24 Jan
Argh, on for another perfect game, this time in 10 second Countdown so I was pleased with myself and I was on 14/14 maxes. I then messed up the conundrum (surprise) by transposing just 2 letters. Damn.

Granted, not the highest quality game of the week, but 3 crucial conundrums:
http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=22021
All would've been avoided if I'd just played it safe in round 13!

If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum

Was tight until Nick took a 7 point lead which he kept right to the conundrum. He buzzed instantly but got the word the wrong way round helping me get the answer, of which I really wasn't sure about. What a game.

I don't really like nominating my own games, but it seems like http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=21081 should at least be a candidate.
Re: Game of the Week Nominations 18-24 Jan
Ha, I didn't clock that when I saw at it the time. I'm guessing 30 secs might not be long enough to check the entire solution space with 8 numbers?Kirk Bevins wrote:Awesome. I didn't know Rex could make a mistake so that is excellent.Matthew Green wrote:Is it acceptable to nominate one of your own?

In other news, of course it's acceptable to nominate your own games, and the poll will probably be tomorrow as I'm too knackered to do it now.
