That first numbers could be done more easily with 75×8-7+100/25 = 597.
Also in the 690 round the challenger did the classic 5×50/25 to make a 10 instead of 50/5.

Numbers trick you sometimes. TBH it took me 20 seconds to spot the 75*8 route.
