Spoilers for Tuesday 8th April 2025 (Series 91, Heat 67)

Susie said you can't have donut because it's an American spelling. It's on Apterous though. Which is correct? Logically I'd say it should be allowed because it is used in the UK, especially on vans.

Same issue as I raised here viewtopic.php?t=16901, only the other way round. And yes, DONUTS is seen on vans which is why the dictionary actually says, "mainly US English" rather than just "US English". The last time a contestant declared DONUT it was allowed for the latter reason.

But I have ticketed this discrepancy, just in case.

Don’t think I’ve seen a player survive 3 straight crucials in their first 3 matchs for a long time. I got this one on the bell but it was a tough one.

Disappointed to see MUDIRATE is no longer part of the dictionary!

I've replied to the ticket, saying it should still be allowed based on the discussion in this thread where it was suggested that less effort goes into checking non-contestant offerings.

Not sure what you're talking about with vans, so will look that up.

However, to me, doughnuts = cakey things with a hole in the middle, whereas donuts = what a car does when it spins on the spot, burning rubber.

When you're at a fête or something and they're selling stuff there might be a donut van.

Re Colin's preferred term for Tony after OOW, I have him down as being more of a 'Geezer!'

I'm pretty sure I've had DONUTS rejected at some point.
