Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
Although I voted, I do not know them and would be interested in a little biopic and description of their jobs - or have I missed something?
Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
Wow, that's a completely different team to when I was on, except for Damian of course, and I'm not voting for him!
Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
Ahhh, thats me proper shafted, thanks Charlie.
I should point out though that Danielle is not a member of the production team.
The production team is thus.........Series Producer Me, Associate Producers Lara Searle, Kate Horton and Sarah Foulkes,Production Secretary Annette Meighan and Production Assistant Cindy Gertrude Ritson.
5 full time staff and 1 part time. Carlsberg don't do production teams, but if they did......................

You should've let us vote for more than one option if we really dislike, say, one particular member of the team...

Will be interesting to see if Mike Brown voted for me

Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
Cindy Ritson was on the production staff when I was on in 1985. It must be close to a record for anyone in TV to hold down such a job for so long. I guess she must be getting on a bit now...aren't we all!
What about Michael Wyllie - is he still involved?

Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
Cindy was present on the first ever edition of Countdown on 1982.
She's now 106 yrs old and is only still living due to the mobile pharmaceutical store she carries around with her.
Cindy is the Davros of Countdown and as such, commands all the disrespect she can get, especially off me.
I'll look forward to her slapping me tomorrow once she's read this thread.

Ill go for Jay, he was pretty efficient and friendly considering he wasnt even on the credits at the time.
If I suddenly have a squirming baby on my lap it probably means that I should start paying it some attention and stop wasting my time messing around on a Countdown forum

I'd only consider the smokers in the team. There is something about the camaraderie you encounter standing under an awning on a grim night in Leeds that writes friendship indelibly on your soul. Damian becomes human with a fag on!

Mr. Corby, that's nice of you to say because interestingly enough when I heard Jeff and Rachel were named the new hosts, I called Kate's line, didn't speak to her, but spoke to Sarah. So, I didn't feel too bad. Sarah is also a great lady!

Danielle, even if she's not technically valid, just for the mental image of her bossing people around with her arm in a sling.

She is a member here. I've been meaning to talk to her and find out who she is.
Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
Hey, what about me???
Before you say it Damian, I know that I'm not technically part of the Production Team but if Danielle's on the list....!!
Overworked, underpaid and taken for granted as per usual....sniff, sniff.....

Noooooo - you're doing a phenomenal job, as was noticed when you weren't there for the first few shows of CofC. Not many people know you because a) you're quite hidden on set and b) you don't post here. Welcome to c4c! Let the appreciation commence...Demi wrote:Hey, what about me???

I'm not sure if Jason reads and learns from anybody. People told him before how he needs to use the quote function and still he hasn't used it.Gavin Chipper wrote:You'd better hope that no-one sees this after last time!Jason Larsen wrote:I just paid one of those people a very nice complement earlier!

Ok, everybody, then I'll tell you!
I called Lara to express some rather important things earlier, but I also told her that she has one of the "prettiest smiles I had ever seen out of anyone in the world."

I don't know, Kirk.
I will send her an e-mail later tomorrow morning, or maybe tomorrow afternoon and ask her if she got my voicemail.

Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
I notice that last time there were any posts on this thread, Damian and Kate were tied at seven votes each. Since then, Damian has created a new account, and has also picked up a new vote. Interesting.

I don't recall voting on this.

Re: Countdown Production Team: The Showdown
I'm glad you're back, Damian!
But, I don't know if we'll be talking to you for very much longer!
I e-mailed Lara and asked her if she and Kate as well as you would still be on Countdown in a few months and she said you all were not sure about that.
Sad, but true!

Hmm - i'm not planning on dying just yet, Jason. As for who'll be working on the show, those of us on the prod team all have our jobs if we want them. If we chose not to relocate / travel to Manchester for our daily office-based job, then ITV won't have trouble finding 5 replacements, i mean, all they have to do is look on this board. Everyone knows how to run the show, so it would seem.
PS - except of course for Joseph Bolas. Oh, and Jennifer Turner. And David Williams, Gevin Chipper, Julian Fell..................
