Great game! For a moment, as Jonathan had such a high score, I thought he was going to beat the record.

Great game chaps, superb quality. Many congrats Jon on making the final that was a monster score, I only got the conundrum because I knew they usually do Christmassy words for this time of year. Also congrats to Stephen on making the final four, a strong performance throughout the series.
The final should be a cracker, both very similar standard, it could well go down to a crucial, can't wait.

Well done to Jonathan for such a good score - lucky you had already missed max game otherwise you would have
been disappointed with the conundrum! And yes, as Rachel says, the last numbers is possible (99% hard).

Great game. Well played by both, especially Jonathan. I thought he could be looking at 147 until that 4 large.
Also I'm glad Tim Rice pulled Susie up on her ANEROIDS definition. "Aneroid barometers" indeed.

Wonder if Stephen knew that Jonathan was on for an all-time high score when he went 4 large after he had already lost.
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

Amazing game, well done, Jonathan.
I hate to be picky (actually, I don't), but Julian and Conor's high scores of 146 were achieved in the "Old 15" format. A score of 147 in "New 15" would not break that record, would it?

Re: Spoilers For Tuesday December 22nd 2015
It wouldn't but it would set a new record for this format. I don't know what that is right now though. It would also be the overall highest score other than Catsdown games.Heather Styles wrote:Amazing game, well done, Jonathan.

On the wiki I think there are frequent conflations of the two formats and I think there's some reference to a Catsdown game as a 9-rounder even though the format is completely different. All records should be kept separate.

And RHOEADINS.Jennifer Steadman wrote:R1 IRONHEADS
Was the groan for the last numbers was from the people who knew the record, rather than people generally disliking 4 large? Pretty sure Jonathan's was, given how frantically he appeared to be searching for a 9 in the last letters.
Another great game, and well played by both.

Oh yes, definitely. We all thought Jonathan was going to go try for an O for APOLOGIES/APOLOGISE.Thomas Cappleman wrote:Was the groan for the last numbers was from the people who knew the record, rather than people generally disliking 4 large?
He didn't, and Jonathan didn't want to tell him.Johnny Canuck wrote:Wonder if Stephen knew that Jonathan was on for an all-time high score when he went 4 large after he had already lost.
