Spoilers for Tuesday May 28th 2013 (Series 68 Prelim 49)
Two new contestants join us today after Joe McGonigle became an octochamp yesterday. They right now don't need much to make the top 8, 3 wins will do it. Who will succeed, and could they sneak into the finals?

Jessica believes she scored her first maximum in today's game: 127 (unless I can't count). The question is the third numbers game: 100 50 1 7 6 1 target 781. Closest possible was 780 (unless someone got it exact that is) and Jessica got 3 away... she would still get the same points for being 3 away as 1 away.
Don't know where she found OLEANDERS though also SOCIETAL in round 10 and ARSENIDE in round 12 as DC equallers.
(Sorry if I'm going totally off the subject but in today's DCDL, there were two PRATESI+3 tens selections: PAPERTIERES^ (APPERTISEE^) and SPOILATEUR^ (TROUPIALES^). And worse still was the selection SSEESDESES !! Can't see that happening on the English version. Anybody care to say which has been the worst with the most duplicates?)

I believe by apterous standards(someone else can clarify if I'm wrong), that's considered a perfect score, but not a max game, since I believe apterous only credits a max on the numbers when you're closest to the target. Either way, a perfect score is very impressive.szodiac wrote:Jessica believes she scored her first maximum in today's game: 127 (unless I can't count). How would OUTRATED have been in round 4?
Regarding Rachel's remarks about Bob Holness as James Bond - he didn't play him on TV, but in a South African radio production in 1956. See this site for a list of all the actors to have played Bond (the earliest was Barry Nelson in 1954).

I've just done the wiki update without having watched the episode myself. I guessed the whole episode based on a letters probability distribution matrix, so if anyone can check for errors that would be great.

Round 1 here had only five different letters in it. Don't know if this is a minimum, but I know one person who'd be able to tell you.szodiac wrote:And worse still was the selection SSEESDESES !! I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

I've got this one to hand as well - bear in mind I let someone pick who I'm playing for me, if it's 2 newbies - and my little brother picked "the one in red" - so that's who the scoring is based on.
Possibly the first contestant to accelerate with a mic clipped...
