Spoilers For Monday May 20th 2013
So, after 2 consecutive weeks of 2 shows, we finally have a full week of shows again
Joe McGonigle will return after winning both of last week's shows to see if he can make a surge for a place of the finals, of which, 3 more wins will seal his place in a month's time.
Janet Street-Porter will be in DC, before Jo Brand takes over on Friday.
Graeme will be around with the recap later.

MEOWING is there in the SMOKING round - I don't think DC mentioned it.

Would REALIGHT have been OK in round 4? I thought of it but then decided against it on the grounds that once you've alighted from a train, it's a bit difficult to alight from it again. (Unless you get back on board of course )

Have Jessica at home this week and were watching Countdown and Des Lettres et des Chiffres at the same time !!
Odd that both first numbers games on both shows were 280 But I thought Rachel said the target was 208 !!
Also we heard/thought in round 12 guest Janet said TRIBALS was not allowed. But it is OK on LeXplorer.
Mauro
edit: Did the new starting time catch anybody out?

No, but I have mine on Sky+, so no worries for me.szodiac wrote:Edit: Did the new starting time catch anybody out?
WIGEONS in round 3 and BARISTA in round 12.
Well, they suggested that it was an adjective only, so if someone can verify that, please say.szodiac wrote:Also we heard/thought in round 12 guest Janet said TRIBALS was not allowed. But it is OK on LeXplorer.

Jessica looked in our ODE3 and confirmed it as a noun and the entry specified TRIBALS in brackets as an alternative definition.James Robinson wrote:No, but I have mine on Sky+, so no worries for me.szodiac wrote:Edit: Did the new starting time catch anybody out?

Slightly off the subject but is a spoiler in a way.... and involved one of today's seen episodes. You think Susie has problems with the dictionary. In today's DCDL, in one of the "Duel" rounds, a definition is given and the contestant has to buzz in and spell the answer. On this occasion the answer was J-E-R-R-I-C-A-N and Bertrand, one of the hosts, said "No". It's spelt J-E-R-R-Y-C-A-N ! Then his co host Ariel (after checking) chimed in that in fact the contestant spelt it OK and allowed it. To make matters worse it can also be spelt JERRYCANE.
This situation is not too dissimilar to the conundrum having two solutions - which has happened in the past.
Mauro
edit: both JERRYCAN and JERRICAN are allowable in Lexplorer.
