That's statistically impossible. I think we should go protest.Jon Corby wrote:11 losers in a row here.Michael Wallace wrote:I haven't won for 10 codes now.

About 2/25 for me. My confidence interval has gone flaccid.

Combining our (Corby, Jono, Ian and my) results so far I make that 7 wins (1+3+2+2) for 74 (15+15+25+19) codes. (Couldn't be bothered to scroll back further in the thread in case I've missed anyone).

Don't forget my awesome 1 out of 5 performance, which shames you all. Yes, but I imagined you probably bought some in secret and didn't declare them.Jon O'Neill wrote:3/15>1/5JimBentley wrote:Don't forget my awesome 1 out of 5 performance, which shames you all. 1/16 now.
My good fortune in finding a wrapper on the floor was cancelled out by my missus undoing one of the (bought) wrappers the other day, and then leaving it screwed up in her bag up against other things which made two of the letters illegible. I had a few guesses at the code, and then emailed Wrigley to ask if they could fill in the blanks (I could provide a photo etc) as I guessed they were unique in that way (i.e. you can't just pick up any code and change one or two letters to get a new valid one), but they pretty much told me to fuck off, quoting part of the Ts & Cs that says they're not liable for any damaged wrappers and shit. Bastards.

Harsh. I bet that was the one that wins the secret jackpot of £5m.Jon Corby wrote:1/16 now.

My girlfriend has won one, although, being a girl, she's not counting how many times she's lost.

I daresay it's lucky for you that she quickly forgets such failures.Jon O'Neill wrote:My girlfriend has won one, although, being a girl, she's not counting how many times she's lost.

Give up.
Re: WIN A FIVER Chewing Gum Comp
One more pack to go from my initial bundle (which only cost £4 anyway, so I'm still in cash profit even ignoring all the free gum).Matt Morrison wrote:Give up.
16 losers in a row is pretty rough though.

When does the competition close? I've still got a few packs that I haven't entered yet.

Ha. The limiting factor is my inability to read them (have to get CF to do it) maybe we'll find five minutes to get some done tonight and if we have more codes than there are days left to enter I'll pass them on.Jon Corby wrote:End of this month. Re: WIN A FIVER Chewing Gum Comp
And, excitingly, it was a winner. I make that 4 winners from about 32 wrappers at a profit of roughly £9 and lots of chewing gum. Will confirm later.

Had a count up.
4/39 and 1 unchecked. So something like a fiver profit after all. Some would say that's a good illustration of stats in action.

Re: WIN A FIVER Chewing Gum Comp
My last cheque was approximately number 33,500.
The list of names has about 23,000 people in it, implying a mean of about 1.5 wins per person, which seems reasonable to me.
