Spoilers For Thursday October 27th 2011
So, there are less than 48 hours to go until the highlight of the year so far, CO:LON 2011.
But, before then, there's the matter of a couple of shows of Countdown to get through first.
David Butcher returns as champ today for his 3rd show, mainly thanks to his brilliant DC-beating spot of DOCTORATE. Will he be first class today
It'll be tough though, as his opponent today is the forumite and chair (I think) of the London Scrabble Association, Mauro Pratesi. I wonder if he'll beat his wife Diane's record on the show, she won 2 shows back in Series 18, over 20 years ago.
Join me later to find out what goes on.

Erm DC missing an -ING word is a bit of poor form. Exiling in round 7. Louvres was there in 8 as a nice alternative.

Re: Spoilers For Thursday October 27th 2011
DC shunning the classic 7 soutane in round 13, in favour of some weird word nobody has heard of. Nice.
Mauro showed definite glimpses of quality. It would have been nice to have seen what he could do after a win or two when settled, but, turns out it wasn't to be.
Edit: I also loved the shifty eyes on the guy in the audience who solved the conundrum. Classic.

WORDAGES as an alternative to DOWAGERS. Did the second numbers without either big number, but wonder why I bothered!

Slightly disappointed with Mauro after the build up although I thought he was going to come back after a strong part 2.
DINGLE in round 7, SLURRED in round 8 and SOUTANE in round 13.

Susie came up with dingle and dongle in that round but seems to have been edited out. I noted one or two other edits but nothing of any importance. Of no significance but caused much amusement during the recording was that Cheryl Baker forgot to pack any shoes and spent all day in scruffy trainers which she'd worn to travel.
