Discuss anything that happened in recent games. This is the place to post any words you got that beat Dictionary Corner, or numbers games that evaded Rachel.
So, everyone should be back at work or school by now after the bank holidays.
And just in time too, as Countdown will be starting to hit the overdrive button soon, with just 3 weeks until the earlier than normal finals will begin.
Roger Edwards is certainly staking a claim to be there thanks to his 3 wins to date. Can he make it 4, and acquire half-octochampdom status
Join Rhys "The Tiny Tearaway" Benjamin for his recap later.......

So I make it Roger gets second reserve, behind Michelle and Mike and the others. Statisticaly there is quite likely to be
a multi-win player from within the last 16 heats, so he will probably slip lower. Also quite likely we get
some more pretty girls on screen to brighten things up!

Hang on, were you at the recording?
Tell us! Tell us!
If anyone wants to know what happens up to Friday of next week then let me know
and I will tell them which phonebox to leave the large sum of money in.....
Unfortunately I will not be able to contribute much to the forum next week
as I will be in Manchester.
Nice shot of Dudley, the warm-up guy, sitting in the centre of front row during the "I love Joe" bit.
He had to fill an empty seat whilst they filmed this sequence at the end - not often we get to see
our Dudley on the screen!
Convincing win for Joe - no major stumbles - but Roger lost a bit of form, like Scott last week.
I must be in grumpy old man mode, but Alastair Stewart gets on my nerves on Countdown. But then I can't say I like him as a newscaster - all a bit too dramatic for my taste. I guess that my least favourite DC guests are the ones that upstage Susie. And Jon Gaunt.
I was in the studio for 3 of Mr Stewart's shows and I agree with you, I found him aggravating, particularly his smarming over Susie. I'll join you in grumpiness.

FOETID also possible in R3.
Roger's R9 selection had to be refilmed as he only selected 8 letters the first time.
And no-one noticed the gap at the end until afterwards?
Anyway so just coming back to this - we are being asked to believe that Roger selected 8 letters, and then just stopped and no-one noticed this until the end of the round? Rachel was putting up the tiles and there was still a space left for the last letter and she didn't say "You've still got one more"? Nick started the clock without noticing? It must have got at least that far or they wouldn't have needed to refilm it. Perhaps it went further and they played the round, looking at the letters on their monitor, not noticing the gap at the end. Did it even go as far as awarding the contestants 16 points for an 8-letter word?
And it makes you wonder, if it got that far, has anyone managed to pull off the seemingly impossible - select 8 letters, without anyone noticing at all even once it made it to television? Is there a round on the wiki somewhere that we're all oblivious to because someone even more skilful than Roger at selecting 8 letters was on the show? Could it be done with 7?
