My local team away to Jason Cullen's local team today. Wonder what the result will be.

Re: Bolton v Stoke
Unlucky rich but the better side won today .Watching today from the stands, to my surprise, Stoke actually started really well and could have been 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes. But in the end, we were too strong physically for Stoke and the scoreline could have been much larger but for poor finishing and a laid back second half display. But we did score two "typical Bolton goals" which is not the prettiest to admire. Oh well . Three points for us. Top of the league for now. Smiles all round
N.B. A "typical Bolton goal" is a goal scored from a long throw or a set piece which defenders just can't cope with . Its the secret to our success (or lack of) .

Judging from events at the Britannia on Saturday, Stoke have cottoned on to this tactic pretty wellN.B. A "typical Bolton goal" is a goal scored from a long throw or a set piece which defenders just can't cope with . Its the secret to our success (or lack of) .
I have nothing to declare except my Guinness.

They are learning from the masters of set play . Mind you, judging off last night's dismal Carling Cup exit for Wanderers, our set play tactics are not too effective all the timeRoss Allatt wrote:Judging from events at the Britannia on Saturday, Stoke have cottoned on to this tactic pretty wellN.B. Perhaps you shouldn't have revealed that secret in an open forum, Jason. Didn't someone who's well known in Countdown circles once play for Northampton. Maybe he passed on this information to the team before a recent cup game.jasoncullen wrote:N.B.
