Abdirizak Hirsi prevented Callum from becoming an octochamp yesterday, now we'll see how he does in his own right. Will he get a second win? He may want to get some easy wins early, because Mark James is going to be looming on the horizon next Tuesday if he makes it that far.

Join James for the recap later.

Seems the max was actually 7 in round 2. Anyone?

Lots of 8s about again, with several alts, some of which are STOMPIER in R4, URODELES in R7.

Those who went to COEDI last year might remember Eric, and he'll be there again this year of course. He's a good player on his day but it looks like nerves got to him a bit here, especially on the numbers. Would have taken something special to beat Abdi anyway - great performance.

Quite interesting that Abdi is the 2nd person from this series that Eric has played on the show..............: http://wiki.apterous.org/Eric_Emslie :geek: :ugeek:

It would have been funny if Eric had reappeared a few months earlier and met Glen again.

Interesting to compare Abdi's body language after his conundrum buzz today compared to yesterday

Indeed, and it took him 2 to 2.5 seconds this time, rather than 0.5 to 1. I'd been waiting to see this game before passing final judgement on whether or not he was aware of his actions in the previous game against me. I think this proves that he can play a conundrum fair and square - when it is not crucial - and that, consequently, he knew exactly what he was doing in the previous game and he did not have "no concept that what he was doing is wrong", like Hansford was said to.

But he played extremely well and is undoubtedly a great player. It will be interesting to see if he can make it all the way.

I think nerves got the better of Abdi in the crucials. It was tense for us at home so it must have been horrendous in the studio. Well done both of you.
