It must be the order of the letters, as I saw GEISHAS in R1 but missed it in R2 (I got GHERAOS but missed the 8).

Erm, CATERANS, ARSENATE, and one of mine there, SERENATA, all in round 5, surprising misses by DC!

Second edit: Surprised that oxtails was disallowed but if it says mass noun I'm happy to see it not slip through the subjectivity net. ISOLATES in that round.

Ha, thought I was missing a 9 for some reason in the SBRLAUIPE round but turns out that 7 is indeed the max. UPRAISE available, amongst others.

Anyone else miss the conundrum?
I couldn't get PRELAPSES^ out of my head which obviously couldn't be a conundrum answer even if it was a valid word.

Pretty good performance from Jill there though. Even from the comfort of my living room she'd have given me a closer game than any of my on-screen opponents did.
I feel it's going to take someone pretty good to stop her from becoming an octochamp now that she has apparently lost all of her nerves. The only other issue to deal with is what must have been the early morning recording slot for tomorrow's game. But looks like she deserves to make finals from what we're seeing.

I got after seeing LESS and worked out that PAPER could be made out of the rest, although I don't recall seeing it before. Slightly odd.
