Due to some odd scheduling, this is the last episode of the week. So while we won't see Heather Styles become an octochamp this week, she could get a 7th win under her belt, and win or lose she will likely surpass her mother's score today as well. Can she get that 7th win? It's the end of Connie Fisher this week also, I won't be sad to see her go, something about her rubbed me the wrong way.

I think FANFARE now surpasses even PLANETOID for spot of the series so far.

Round 1: spotted CASSONE - a big Italian chest !
Found BARBIE in round 3... JAWLINE was great in round 4 - well spotted Heather.
But to differentiate between my two (gaming) dictionaries... found in OED3 (but not allowable in Scrabble) SUNSPACE in round 1 (found after 30secs tho) and JALEO in round 4 (a Spanish dance).
Again we had a theme going on: TRIPOLI (round 6), RHODESIA (round 9) and TEXAS (round 11) are listed in OED3, and are capitalised, but only Tripoli has an entry with a lowercase 't' !

I got MEANIES as an alt in R13. Several alts for the last two numbers.

I guess the earlier start will mean the horse racing will kick Countdown off more often than before.
