Spoilers for Wednesday November 7th 2012 (Series 67 #67)
On this, the 67th prelim on the 67th series, Phillip Jackson is continuing to win, getting his fourth win of the series so far. He needs to keep on winning in order to secure a place anywhere other than 7th on the leader board, and while I'm not 100% sure about this, I believe the moment he loses, Chris Marshall secures his place on the leader board, or it certainly makes his life easier. Can he get the 5th win? We have one major obstacle in his path today though, in terms of apterite Heather Styles. If you're thinking to yourself "haven't I heard that last name somewhere before?", yes you have. Heather is trying to embody the success of her mother, Series 65 six game winner Phyllis Styles, perhaps even surpass it and reach the finals. We'll see if she begins this journey today.

I think we have a real contender here, people. Very well done Heather, not only on the highest score of the series, but what I argue is the spot of the series so far in PLANETOID. I really hope you get to the octochamp title.

Great debut, Heather and a terrific score to boot. PLANETOID was a great spot and I'm wondering, did you have WATERSIDE or WATERISED written down in round 9, or something completely different?

I agree. I don't know what explains the sudden rush of good female contestants after 10 years of pretty well total male domination, but with all due respect, Tia's and Rose's points totals were very much at the low end for octochamps. On this evidence Heather has a real chance of being only the second female contestant to break 800 points.Jordan F wrote:I think we have a real contender here, people. Jolly well done to Heather! I gulped when Philip said 9 on the waterside round but I worried in vain. Liked
the appropriate condundrum too.
Alt 1st numbers ((9x8)+1)x6)-10-10 (though sadly out of time). Alt in R3 NOURISH, R12 PAROLED and R13 ROMANCES.

Brilliant, Heather! Feisty one, you are! PLANETOID and MONSTERA were among several great words. I was bricking it when Phillip declared 9 in the WATERSIDE round, but you won quite comfortably in the end with a great score! Looking forward to more of the same.

A superb début, Heather. Very well done, the highest score of the series and the highest début score since a certain Edward McCullagh in Series 64, and look what happened to him...........

Well played, Heather. Let's have seven more like that.

Many thanks for your kind comments about my teapot-winning experience I came dangerously close to declaring DEPLATION instead of PLANETOID Phillip was unlucky to miss out on WATERSIDE; I hadn't thought of there being a nine in that round.

Just caught up with this, super performance Heather.
I hadn't spotted waterside but as soon as Phil said "waterised" I realised what he'd missed and I must admit I genuinely felt sorry for him. However a nano-second later that thought had passed and was really delighted you'd kept up the family tradition. Just hope you make the finals, especially given what happened with your mum's very bad luck in missing out a year or so ago.

Some really good rounds there, well played, I'm looking forward to seeing how you continue
I too shat one when he declared nine then I felt really bad for him when he said waterised instead, would have made the game much more tense, but I'm sure you weren't too despondent with how that round turned out
