I read this article in The Times yesterday:

http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/ ... 878295.ece

 :o

I suppose if anyone can understand him doing this, members of this forum can. I certainly wouldn't have the patience, even if I had the uninterrupted time.

I particularly like the words mentioned:

Somnificator(n) one who induces sleep in others
Unbepissed(adj) not having been urinated on; unwet with urine

When I was at school and studying Drama, I was going to make the OED into a stage production but my teacher thought it would just be a play on words....

I've barely even opened most of the volumes. A project like that would leave my eyeballs in a gooey mess.

But then again, I've known where Oxford University has been for a while now!

The copyright library I was working at was complaining that they were running out of space. So I wrote a letter to the staff magazine suggesting that they get rid of all of the books, and just keep the largest dictionary, as basically every other book is just the dictionary in a different order.
The letter didn't get published.
