Today is the last regular episode of Countdown before the summer hiatus. Andy Rossall would like to finish this run of episodes on a high after defeating our own Grant Waters yesterday. Can he get the second win before we head off into the summer sunset? It's the end of Dave Myers as well, and I like the guy as a person and what he does, I've just seen better guests at the corner though, in my opinion.
Join Thomas for the last recap for a few weeks later.

i woulda showed off with ISOPTERAN tho..
I saw DEMURE in R7.. but nawty Dad had to go and say that it was a adverb :/

I was in the Audience for that show after just finishing filming, and to my annoyance I scored 91v59 against Andy
8s all over the place! I got GOSSAMER, PATRONISE, DEMURELY, BLOTCHES, DREAMING, and RATIONED as well as AVAILS in round 6.
So, clearly the difference between sitting in the Champions chair with the lights and cameras and the pressure make all the difference, and tiredness was not a factor after all!
So now a whole month off!

To the best of my knowledge, no-one has ever been awarded extra points on Countdown for showing off. Just saying.

What we need is a list of socially acceptable anagrams.
There's also a sound practical reason for not showing off. One day some smart-arse apterite is going to offer something like MANTICORE, unaware that it's disappeared from the latest edition of the dictionary and no-one's noticed. Keep it simple.
