Today is a big one, for our own Paul James is on the verge of becoming the first octochamp of the series. If he gets the win with a score of 99 or more, he will also enter the 800 club. Win or lose, there is a good chance he'll be back for the finals, but it'd be nice for him to get the full run. I hope he does it, and we'll all find out when it happens.

No, you won't. He's retired his position as Tuesday recapper. We need a replacement. And if no-one puts themselves forward, I'll happily do it for one week only.

I guess I'll do today's then to see if I'm ok at this. Whether I'll be able to do it permanently is to be seen but I might as well try it.

Very well done Paul on a great run, well deserved octochampdom and unlucky to fall just short of the 800 club. Plenty of time to practise before the finals too.

Well done to Paul. All round pleasant chap and good of him to hang around for lunch and some of the afternoon session too.
