Today is an interesting day for Suzi Purcell. Depending on how things turn out, she could end up in one of four different seeds today. Let's run through it.

Finish as number 8 seed: Lose with a score of 54 or less, or score exactly 55 and lose the tiebreaker (not sure how that works).
Finish as number 7 seed: Lose with a score between 56 and 121.
(While she could in theory finish as number 6 seed today, it'd require a record)
Enter as 6 seed: Win with a score of 89 or less (possibly 90 as well but again I'm not sure of tiebreaks)
Enter as number 5 seed: Win with a score of 91 or more.

So we'll see how that plays out. I believe also that if she gets to the 5 position, her place in the finals is either secure or close to it. Jon Culshaw is proving himself as one of my favorite DC guests of the series, so hopefully that good streak continues.

Suzi's 5th show reminded me very much of the 5th show by Tom Barnes back a year ago (16th May 2011), a show
that would have been my 8th had I lasted that long. Fortunately Suzi was a little off form, unlike Tom, and Elaine
did manage to get some beaters in.

Alt second numbers (((100-(3x9))x10)-50+4=684. Alt in R3 UNRATED, in R7 STEERING or METERING, in R9 DIAZO.

REGIMENTS in round 7.

EMERSING^ was unlucky for Elaine, it's a very plausible construction from EMERSION, which I'm surprised Susie didn't at least mention. Also, REGIMENTS was there that round.

Edit: Too slow.

I think Suzi was kind and gave Elaine some points on purpose after Elaine having a bad start, this was obvious in the last numbers round when the solution was super-easy and Suzi said she got it wrong.

Don't see why she'd have done that deliberately. Elaine had already given her solution and got her ten points.
