Squawk, squawk, or should that be **insert sparrow noise**, **insert sparrow noise** (if you saw OoW yesterday), in honour of DC guest John Parrott, not Alistair McGowan as previously advertised, but no matter, John is just as interesting anyway.

But, it's Paul Keane who is hogging the limelight at the moment with 3 wins under his belt now. Will he make it to half-octochampdom today, I wonder :?:

Join Liam later for that. ;) :) :D

DC didn't give the max in R1 because of the disallowed word. Nubbiest is also not in ODE3 (just nubby/nubbly), so the best seems to be 7 with UNITISE etc.

Jeff: Can you use it in a sentence?
Susie: Good morning; that's a nice HELLOED.

Or HULLOED. Or HALLOED. (I can't remember if there was an A in the selection, but there was a U, though I discounted the idea of HULLOED being allowed.)

Why do they bother with the alternative spellings of HELLO? They don't bother with other words that have a greater divergence of pronunciation (e.g., NEITHER/"NEATHER"), so why maintain this pointless distinction?

Thought Paul was below-par today after his previous performances. Hopefully that was just a blip and he'll be back to his best soon.

UNITISE/UNITIES in round 1.

3rd numbers alt: (50-6)x(10+10)+9=889

LOERIES in round 2 and ANORAK in round 3.

3rd Numbers Alt.: ((10 + 6) x 50) + (10 x 9) - 1 = 889

I got a 14-maxer, more than happy, only missed DAPHNIA, which I'd never heard of. Nice practice ahead of CoChest on Saturday. ;) :) :D  8-)
