Hiyo,

Anyone fancy doing an Okey-Doke count for Friday's game, just out of curiosity.

Stick your spoilers here... much that I'll have spotted them all during the game anyway, haha .... oink, oink, flap, flap! :D

Okey-dokey Dave. I'll try, but it might not be immediate.

I agree with Jon. I know there has been a thread before about how often Des said okay-doke, but I thought that no-one cared any more, especially since now he is leaving.

EDIT: In round 3 could you have had VIZOR?

I know its a Scrabble word, but not sure if it is a Countdown word.

3rd Numbers Alt: (10 - 1) x 8 x 7

The second numbers game (5, 3, 2 ,5, 4, 2 with target 966) was impossible under the normal rules.

However, if the rules were extended to include powers of numbers, a result WOULD have been possible.

((3^5) x 4 -(5 + (2/2)) = 966.

3^5 = 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 = 243; 243 x 4 = 972; 5 + (2/2) = 6; 972 - 6 = 966.

POETISES in round 1 as a beater.
APOCRINE or PROCAINE as equallers in round 2.
REGALIST/GLARIEST as equallers in round 4.
DOESKIN as a nice equaller in round 6.
GASOHOL as a nice equaller in round 7.
CELESTAS/ALECOSTS as DC beaters in round 9.

Mind you, despite all that, I missed RATIFIED, CARDIGAN and MINUTED/BITUMEN :(

Not at all reliable. I didn't notice any. But then maybe I'm so used to them that I just don't notice them anymore. In any case, they don't worry me even on the odd occasion that I do notice one.

Only after previous discussion did I notice "Okey-Dokey", I recall being aged 10 and figuring out my teachers verbal mannerisms and promptly impersonating him. He had no idea who it was supposed to be. My students noticed my little tendencies also, I think people become sort of hyper aware of it once they become aware of it, so said habit, whatever it may be, is often LESS frequent than we actually think. It's a bit like when you buy a new car you suddenly start noticing that make/colour everywhere.

I don't care what numbers are on the sides of trains I board, but curious persons are welcome to pursue it as they see fit. I see no reason to jump on them for that.

I ain't jumping on you Dave, so I apologise if I gave you that impression.

I just didn't know why you would care about how many times Des says Okey-Dokey.

For Julian:

I played an utter shocker today due to a combination of missing stuff and trying bad words (REGISTRAL for fuck's sake) , and finished with a raw score of 87 / 121.

HAPPY NOW? :x

I thought today's challenger looked pretty decent, especially on the numbers.
