In case anyone's interested...

Post by James Hall »

In preparation for my first appearance on the show, I made loads of little cue-cards for "revision" purposes. (Fruitful 6s, 7s and 8s, and 6-,7-,8- and 9-letter falsagrams). Seeing as they're not a lot of use to me any more, but many hours went into making them, I wondered if anybody else would like them. If you're interested, let me know! PM, email, this thread or whatever is fine. (Preference will go to someone also preparing to go on the show).

Before our quarter-finals, I gave a list of the words that had been removed from the dictionary for ODE3 to Ed and told him they were the new additions . (I told him the truth after a few seconds though).

Another niner for Adam and yet another century. Well done, that man."

I'd probably like those James, if you don't get any better offers. Also assuming I can read your writing or that they're printed :)

Yeah, I might like them as I'm going on in Series 67. Could you make (photo)copies?

Also: When do I have to swend in my application to guarantee a place in S67?
cheers maus

Dunno, but presumably you have to pass your audition too!

Well, yeah. Assuming I pass. What do you have to do / how hard is it?

I've seriously considered the possibility of going on now or round-abouts, so they would be useful, James.

As I still cannot make new threads, I have hijacked this one.
I am finally going to see countdown on August 30th (DC Paul Zenon), 4 tickets.
So I wanted some feedback as to cheap places to stay etc.
Also I have four tickets, i might only be using 2 of them though so rather than tell Saralee I only want to use 2 of them i might give them away to someone on the forum.

I would say yes, but can't for 2 reasons.

1. Is well notified.... :(
2. I'm on holiday, so can't anyway.

I've heard the Youth Hostel is good if you're happy with that sort of thing. Doubt you'll get anywhere cheaper. Other than that, you might be lucky with a cheap room at Premier Inn or Travelodge.

Put this here because it fits my dilemma.
i have got 4 audience tickets for countdown for the 30th of August, but I have just found out that I hospital appointment that day.
Should I give them away to a lucky forumite, or contact Saralee and hand them back?

Give them to underprivileged kids in Manchester.

IRTTOP: Surely it would be better to add them to the wiki for communal use?

Skip your hospital appointment. Countdown is more important.
