I've never been to any Jewish Society events but have mean to several Christian Society gigs. There's one coming up called 'Grill a Christian'. Sounds good huh?

Since this is about Judaism though I should comment on that. Judaism gave us that great Friends episode, 'The One with the Holiday Armadillo' and also I remember at primary school saying "shalom" and eating bread so I guess Judaism is good since I got free food.

There aren't many Jews where I live.

This happens a lot . There's a communal kiddush (Touch Jnr conundrum) after the morning service on the Sabbath and festivals with loads of biscuits, cakes, wine, whisky and other foody treats. There's sometimes a communal se'udah in the afternoon too. At my synagogue, these are normally sponsored by a family to mark a special occasion (in which case it's free food); otherwise they come out of donations / membership fees. There's also a festival (Purim) where one of the commandments is to send a goody bag of food to your friend(s). Sunday was Lag Ba'Omer, which is an excuse for a big barbecue / party, which is exactly what the JSocs (UJS) did. It was fun. I was even eating while fighting with inflatable gladiator paddles on an inflatable podium.

Charlie, was the thing you went to a Friday night dinner? They're awesome too. (You may have realised by now that a lot of the routine and practice of Judaism revolves around food).

Oh. I've only ever heard of Lot in a quiz question about a pillar of salt so I have no idea how the word is used in a sentence.
