Woot, my first ever perfect game playing along with the show, I feel like Corby **insert sunglasses emoticon**

Here we go again! My thoughts on the game:

Whoa, Peter! If there are a lot of girls coming after you, I'm not surprised. Why don't you eat a lot of pumpkins, but keep your future wife instead?

Letters Round #2: Can you say "serendipity?" Or is it more like "Deja vu?" A discrepancy over this word brought a prior contestant back! At least Des didn't mishear it this time!

Letters Round #6: What could have been so hard about finding a word longer than a 5 with that letter selection?

Countdown Conundrum: Peter, way to get the Countdown Conundrum at the last second! And congratulations to Debbi on winning another game!

I'm confused. What do you mean regarding letters round 2? Also, for letters round 6 do you mean round 6 - letters, or letters round 6 (i.e. round 7)? If you mean round 6 - nobody got a 5 so I'm not sure why you commented on it.

David I remember posting a DC beater that ruined a previous perfect game of yours that later turned out to be supreme bollocks. Hopefully you haven't spent the last few months with a haunting sense of inadequacy :(

Nah, Paul. It would take more than a few perfect games of Countdown to assuage my haunting feelings of inadequacy.

Kirk, what I mean by my comment on letters round #2 is that the word PRONATE brought a contestant back because Des mistook the unacceptable word PROMATE, for the valid PRONATE. It happened to someone in the last series and I'm trying to think of who it was. Wait a minute... Carl Dundas, ah! That's the name I'm looking for! Anyway, on yesterday's show Des didn't mishear it and accepted it.

Also, I did mean to say letters round 6 and at the same time I meant to say, "normal round 7." This round had the letters selection of SGFSUIELJ. I was surprised when both the contestant got fives because I thought they would get more points with the letters selection!

Why were you surprised? It's a hard letters seletion. Also, you have an amazing ability to remember random facts - yet again you pluck out Dundas from thin air.

Kirk, in round 7, the letters Q and Z weren't there. That's why I was surprised!

There were only 3 6s and only 1 was normal. Just because a letters round does not contain a Q or Z doesn't mean it's easy.

What could have been normal, Kirk?

The 3 6s were:
GUISES (6)
OT: FUSILS (6) GLISSE (6)

To me, GUISES is the only normal one.

Thanks for the prompt recap, Adam. :)
My 'belt and braces' approach to recording Countdown didn't work. :(
My video recording failed - still not sure why, as I have it timed to do Mon-Fri. Also Virgin Media's 'catch-up' inexplicably missed out the first 5 rounds! :?
