Asian Cup 2011 (Apterous Tourney)
Posted: Mon Jan 03, 2011 12:08 pm
by Joseph Krol
Would anyone be interested in entering an Apterousian replica of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup? 16 places available. The groups as follows:
Group A: Qatar, Kuwait, China, Uzbekistan
Group B: Saudi Arabia, Japan, Jordan, Syria
Group C: South Korea, Australia, India, Bahrain
Group D: Iraq, North Korea, UAE, Iran
Format: Standard 9 rounders, Standard scoring
Dates: If this goes ahead, I'd like to vaguely stick to the time frame of the actual thing, so group matches need to be done by Jan 19. Not really bothered if this doesn't go to plan.
Places will be given on a first come first served basis. You will be notified of your country by post in this thread as soon as possible. Group fixtures will be posted as soon as the places are full. Ask me if you want any info. And one last thing: Yes, I am just doing the Asian Cup because a) I want to host a tourney and b) I can't be bothered waiting for anything more major.

This is just about the swiftest tournament I've seen run. Can you just put names after each country though so we know who is who without having to scroll down the posts.

Iraq just murdered Iran (predictably enough), although without the use of chemical weapons it has to be said...

No it isn't. They all waited till the end and inadvertantly created the group of death.
