The Ashes 2010-11

Post by James Robinson »

Well, this seems like this could be one of the best Ashes Series in recent history.

England seem like they have their best chance ever.

And I turn on the TV to see the first over and .... England are 0-1 after 3 BALLS!!!

Haha, great stuff. For what it's worth I don't think people should worry about spoiler-proofing the thread. If you read a thread titled THE ASHES and aren't up to date then you're a bit silly.

I'm not liking the BBC's live text coverage. I see that they're trying to make it look super fancy, but it just seems a bit cluttered and harder to read to me.

Or, such as in my case, a bit too cool for cricket.

I seem to have picked up from my status updates on my FB news feed that England are doing shit. Hopefully it gets worse and ends quickly.

Christ, you're as bad as all those people who are all "omg I hope England lose really quickly in the World Cup because I hate football and boohoo".

I've barely seen any cricket stuff, actually, just the occasional newspaper supplement.

Yeah, but the notation's different. In England they write the runs first then the wickets, in Aus its wickets first then runs (the freaks). Fascinating stuff.

Cheers - didn't know that. I'll wait till himself's expounding at length on the subject then wow him with my knowledge  (He will look at me as tho this is knowledge I should've been born with, but hey ho ;) )

No, Jon, that's Australian scoring. They have the runs and the wickets the other way round, you see?

No, Kai, you only have 10 wickets in cricket, and 123 is bigger than 10. Maybe it's super cricket or something.

Yes, Michael, I was referring to the sport Aussie Rules football. It has the scores the other way round, so unlike English football, an Aussie Rules football score might be:

49 - 123

Instead of:

1 - 0

Personally I think it was the England Cricket Team trying to crash the Visa / Mastercard / Paypal websites.
