Matt because we play together so often and I like to believe are fairly equal.
Josh because he is something to aim at, I used to be very slightly better than him but now he is far superior.
Eoin because he seems about my standard and has a cute name.

Ian because we play a lot of games and I need to be better than him.
Heather because I need to be able to instantly check if she's beaten me on the Duel, and thus deny her sex.
Michael because I need to be able to instantly check if he's beaten me on the Duel, and this deny him sex.

Rather illogically, I suppose, once rivals were available I kept adding people who I played. I hadn't realised that we are limited to just three rivals until I tried to add the fourth. I've not changed any of my rivals since that time, as it's gives me a false sense of confidence when I see that I'm higher placed than any of my three rivals.

When I take it a little more seriously, which no doubt I will soon, I expect to pick at least two of them to be people rated just a little higher than me, which hopefully will encourage me to try to catch them.

I chose Jack Hurst, Scott Gillies and Daniel Pati, only for the reason that the finals were coming up and this seemed a handy way of keeping tabs on my rivals!

Ian Volante - as Ian said, we play quite a lot and are pretty evenly matched. Also because Ian is awesome.
Ryan Taylor - because we're pretty close in the Duel this month and I want to keep tabs on him. He is also awesome.
Matt Morrison - as I wish to help his insane dream of becoming the most-rivalled player on apterous. Oh yeah and he's pretty awesome too.

Previous (awesome) incumbents have included both Hursts, Innis (but this was too demoralising), Marcus and DO'D. I'm going to keep up the rotation though, it's a great feature.
