Where do you get the data from?

If you go to the start of this thread, you'll find your answer there.Joseph Krol wrote:Where do you get the data from?
I think you'll find that Rhys has already booked that one, Joseph.Joseph Krol wrote:I'll do Robert Muir 55 -32 Arthur Barrow (Series 39) to start with, might well do more if I like it.
Speaking of which, I'm afraid I've got to pull out due to ever-lasting school workJames Robinson wrote:I think you'll find that Rhys has already booked that one, Joseph.Joseph Krol wrote:I'll do Robert Muir 55 -32 Arthur Barrow (Series 39) to start with, might well do more if I like it.
The earliest Series 39 that is unbooked is Clive Freedman 42-48 Jackie Anderson.
So, probably best that you start there.
James, I'll be quite happy if you deal with the week I booked but haven't done yet (15-19 March 1999). Not that I don't enjoy it or think it's worthwhile - quite the opposite. I think the expression is "needing to spend more time with my family". The main thing is that I've found out what's involved in historical recapping and I'll come back when I feel able.James Robinson wrote:I would start at Series 39, since 41 and up are more or less all done, and I'm more or less finishing off 40.
Not a problem, Clive.Clive Brooker wrote:James, I'll be quite happy if you deal with the week I booked but haven't done yet (15-19 March 1999). I honestly don't know. Probably best to ask Charlie or Mike.Clive Brooker wrote:One question though: apart from the two obvious places (the forum entry linked from the database and the wiki page), is the data entered into the recapper stored anywhere else? From the odd comment here and there I feel it must be.
If you're talking about the Wiki text, that is stored here: http://www.apterous.org/cdb/wikicap.phpClive Brooker wrote:One question though: apart from the two obvious places (the forum entry linked from the database and the wiki page), is the data entered into the recapper stored anywhere else? I think you missed out a "please".Rhys Benjamin wrote:Please do Prelim 5 please.

But look at 9th August!James Robinson wrote:I'm booking out 22-26 August 1996. All will become clear very quickly.
If you mean how far back do I have handwritten notes, there are some as far back as Series 2, so no slacking at the back.Johnny Canuck wrote:Incidentally, what's the first series for which you have written recaps? I heard it was sometime in 1990.
That would have been Charlie, but I'm sure you're welcome.BTW, thanks for adding me to CDB.

That didn't take long.James Robinson wrote:Just 10 left, although 2 of them have already been done. So just 8 left then.

Time to wrap up Series 39, with November 30 - Xmas Day 1998.
Excellent work James, and much appreciated, as always.James Robinson wrote:Series 39, DONE & DUSTED.
Thank you, Mike. Although, in fairness, without your contributions, none of this would be possible.Mike Brown wrote:Excellent work James, and much appreciated, as always.James Robinson wrote:Series 39, DONE & DUSTED.

I'll mix it up a bit and take all the ones still to be done from CoCV. That's six episodes. I suppose it would feel good to finish a series off!

All done.James Robinson wrote:Next up, April 20 - May 15 1998. 20 episodes again.
Actually, it was only 119 (no BASILECTS in those days, I'm afraid). It's now been added, although Charlie will need to remove the previous entry at some point.Joseph Krol wrote:This probably isn't the right place to post it, but the final of CoCV has a max of 129, so this can be added to the database.

For the benefit of any historical recappers: It's worth noting for the record that once we get into regular audio recap territory (lots of the pre-1991 stuff, basically), it's worth checking the wiki for spellings rather than just relying on the notes as I often only discovered the correct spelling several appearances down the line (a good example of this is where I was spelling Gino Corr with an 'e' for several editions before discovering it was wrong).Johnny Canuck wrote:According to the wiki, it's Ray Johnstone. I believe Rhys did the wiki, but forgot to do the recap on here, so maybe you might want to ask him about that.Charlie Reams wrote:S42. Wed 1-Mar-00 Andy Brown 39 - 56 Russell Gaines
This episode, as I mentioned in the episode before that, was never actually broadcast, because Mr. Horn was revealed to be a convicted child molester.Charlie Reams wrote:S36. Wed 9-Jul-97 Joy Hill 42 - 22 Allen Horn

Maybe just put a placeholder, with the normal header and then a note about why it was never broadcast.James Robinson wrote:This episode, as I mentioned in the episode before that, was never actually broadcast, because Mr. Horn was revealed to be a convicted child molester.Charlie Reams wrote:S36. Awesome! (Well, not awesome, but you know what I mean). You will be shocked at how many paedophiles come from Bridlington. Seriously. Bridlington secondary school is "often" in the papers exposing teachers as paedos. Amazing stuff.
