This is the ninth instalment of the Countdown Scattergories game, a year on from the 8th!!1!eleven!!

Below are 8 word rounds and for each round you are to find a word of a specific length. The idea is to come up with a word, that you think will be the least mentioned by the other players. For each round, there are 10 possible answers.

R1: B A T F R I E N D (7 letter word)
R2: C U R V E D L E G (6 letter word)
R3: D R O P I N S E A (8 letter word)
R4: E A S T E R S I N (8 letter word)
R5: M A J O R T I E S (7 letter word)
R6: Q U A N X O T I C (6 letter word)
R7: R A T I O N A L E (7 letter word)
R8: S N O R T L A Z E (7 letter word)

How To Enter
Please PM me with your answers for each round :). You can do this by clicking on the PM icon to send me a private message :).

Rules
1. Check that your words are allowed before submitting your entry. The best way to do this (because not everyone will have an OED2r) is to use the Lexplorer feature on Apterous. If you do have an ODE2r, you can obviously use that as well to check your word.
2. Check that your words match the required length for each round before submitting.
3. Check that your words match the selection for each round before submitting.
4. Check that you have spelt your words correctly before submitting.
5. If your word breaks any of the rules above (1 - 4), then you will be allowed to come up with a second word for the round. YOU WILL NOT BE PENALISED.

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT USE A SOLVER TO FIND WORDS.

Scoring
Each word is scored depending on the number of times that it has been mentioned. If a word is only mentioned once, then it will get 10 points, a word mentioned twice will get 9 points and so on down to 0 points for words mentioned more than 10 times. In instances where you have to submit a second word(s), you will NOT be penalised. If you have to come up with a second word, but don't submit it in the time limit, you will get no points for the round.

Time Limit
The competition will close on Wednesday 14th April at 10 PM (22:00) GMT+1 :)
All entries received after the closing date and time will not be counted (but may still be charged).

So if I send an entry in at one minute before 11 on the evening of 14th it'll be counted? :)

11? Nope :?

Oops, sorry, I forgot to say, no using a solver to find words.

Entered. Maybe I should see if there's time to make this a mini-game at Co:Lon...

Why not? You said 22:00 GMT. We've been on GMT+1 since clocks went on a week or so ago. :)

Why is it suggested that people check their words but not use a solver? Why allow any checking at all? Why give people a second chance if, despite all these safeguards, they mess up? I never understood these rules.

Yeah, being allowed to check but not use a solver is a bit dumb - if I was bored enough I could just check every possible combination of letters. Hopefully no-one would be that lame, though...

The lines are closed! Results will be up in the morning. Liam Tiernan and Andy Wilson both had invalid words for Round 4 and so were awarded 0.
