The Sun Countdown Footballers Quiz
In today's The Sun, they've done a "dumb footballers" Countdown, in which they got 8 famous footballers to do a letters round, numbers round and a conundrum, hoping to prove what Clarke Carlisle has proved this week, that footballers aren't thick.
The selections were:
R01: E I O T W M N G N
R02: 100, 2, 6, 3, 9, 7. Target: 321.
R03: O S B L F L T O A (conundrum)
The contestants were Series 59 finalist Neil MacKenzie, Jeff's mate Chris Kamara, World Cup winner George Cohen, goalkeepers Neville Southall & Peter Bonetti, Ron "Chopper" Harris, Dean Windass and Malcolm Macdonald.
And now a brief interlude before our main feature:

Re: The Sun Countdown Footballers Quiz
So to summarise, then, the thickest of the lot is the Sun researcher for the scoring fail in round 2 and for the plural conundrum.

Haha, quality journalism. I wonder if Neil was put off by the conundrum being a plural.

I think it ought to be noted that there was a disclaimer saying, if I remember correctly, "The scoring system is different on the show".Alec Rivers wrote:So to summarise, then, the thickest of the lot is the Sun researcher for the scoring fail in round 2 and for the plural conundrum.
However, why should it be? And good spot on the illegal conundrum

Yes. Yet again, not adding before multiplying really shows a distinct lack of understanding of how numbers work.Gavin Chipper wrote:They made a right fucking meal of that numbers!

I know it's irrelevant but I met Malcolm Macdonald at a charity event held at my college recently. Nice bloke.

Maybe he was, but I'm pretty sure that most Man City fans quite like the job he did at Huddersfield Town for this particular reason.craig wrote:I know it's irrelevant but I met Malcolm Macdonald at a charity event held at my college recently. Nice bloke.

They made a such a dog's dinner of the numbers. (100 + 7) x 3 really isn't that difficult!
