C2: Challenger Daphne Lord. From High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. She is a retired shop assistant. She is known, like Jeff, for her "spontaneous puns". Her nickname is "Monster-In-Law", given to her by her son-in-law, who in turn, was given the nickname of "Sod-In-Law".

OT: BAREGE (6) REBATE (6) BREVET (6) GREAVE (6) JAEGER (6)
Score: 6–6 (max 6)

Score: 12–12 (max 12)

A double header of 6's gives it a nice flat max start to today's proceedings.

Round 3: O I U L N C N K E

C1: NUCLEON (7)

Oliver comes with a superb 7, to edge ahead.

Round 4: N S S O E N I N T

C1: SONNETS (7)
C2: TENSIONS (8)
DC: INTONES (7)
Score: 19–20 (max 27)

But what's this...., Daphne pulls out the darrenic 8 and Oliver goes behind for possibly the first time in his stint on the show. :o

Round 5: 75, 9, 9, 6, 8, 7. Target: 192.

C1: 195. (75 - 9 - 8 + 7) x (9 - 6) (7)

Score: 26–20 (max 37)

Oliver gets back in front with his 3 away solution.

John tells of the time when a fellow journalist tried to get Harold Wilson's hand read by a fortune teller in Blackpool. Harold Wilson of course, probably the most famous Huddersfield Town fan who ever lived. Although Sir Patrick Stewart isn't too far away.

C1: DAIRIES (7)
C2: DIARIES (7)
DC: DIARISE (7)
OT: AIRSIDE (7)
Score: 53–33 (max 64)

Following Jeff's success on Monday and Rachel's failure yesterday, it's now John's turn to have a go at Susie's Call My Bluff.

He had to work out which definition of PIFFERO was correct.
a) A type of Spanish bread baked in the shape of a cross and used for religious festivals.
b) A small reed instrument from the Italian mountains.
c) An Italian word for "a load of tripe" or "empty awful"

John correctly guessed at b), leaving Rachel with 0 points and John joining Jeff with 1 point.

Round 10: 25, 8, 2, 4, 10, 8. Target: 765.

C1: 768. (((8 / 2) x 25) - 4) x 8 (7)

Did Daphne say COASTED, it sounded a lot like TOASTED to me...

An ALECOST is a tansy-scented Eurasian perennial herb with buttonlike yellow flowers; used as potherb or salad green and sometimes for potpourri or tea or flavouring.

Oliver wins the game following his 8th consecutive max of the game. 8-)

Round 14: 50, 10, 6, 6, 2, 4. Target: 562.

C1: 562. ((50 + 6) x 10) + 2 (10)
C2: 562. ((50 + 6) x 10) + 2 (10)
Score: 91–57 (max 102)

Number 9 comes giving him the chance to reach his 5th century.

Round 15: M A T T E D P E T

C1 buzzes on 11 seconds to say TEMPTATED which is incorrect.
C2 buzzes on 24.5 seconds to say ATTEMPTED which is correct.
Score: 91–67 (max 112)

Unfortunately, Oliver guesses wrong for the 3rd time in his stint, leaving Daphne to pick up the pieces and give the score more respecability.

So, tomorrow, Oliver will be trying to become the first octochamp of the series, not bad since we'll only be on show #9 of the series tomorrow. Can he make the Apteforumites proud and obtain that sought after octochamp status.

Find out with yours truly, tomorrow. See you then, bye bye.
