I have an interesting fact about the US subsidiary of Countdown's production company. They (Granada International) have only created reality shows. Thus, they do not have the US rights to Countdown.

Does everyone find that interesting?

No. Even though Granada may have acquired the UK rights to the DCeDL format through swallowing up Yorkshire TV, that wouldn't give them rights in any other country. Besides, I think you mean Granada America, not Granada International.

Actually, the only other company related to them that I have heard of is called Granada International.

Granada America is the US production subsidiary, Granada International is the worldwide distribution arm.

Sorry, but am I the only one who doesn't see the point of this question?

EDIT: Its not exactly a questions being asked, my bad . Still it seems a rather pointless observation, because US will never have/air/do a version of Countdown.

My apologies, Jason, but I don't find it interesting either. Perhaps myself and Joseph are the only ones though.

For the record, I really have no interest in whether a Countdown pilot was once rejected in Turkmenistan, whether Rolf Harris would be a great host on "Countmekangaroodown'mate" (the proposed Australian version), or whether aliens visiting Earth to watch Countdown would consider cloning DesO so he could host "Zyqqoridjux" (that's a rough translation of 'Countdown' in alien) on their home planet. And all variants of said examples.

I would politely suggest that 'interesting' facts/proposals be kept to a single thread (especially when they're on the same theme) - rather than creating a new one to clutter up the forum. Perhaps a "Countdown abroad" sub-section could be created for such posts/topics, so I can avoid them more easily?

However, I can see it happening now. The theme song would have lyrics and it would go, "Count Me Kangaroo Down Mate, count me kangaroo down."
