I'm not sure if people knew or not, but former 13-year old contestant Andrew Sweet sadly died aged 16 this June of Hodgkins Lymphoma, a type of cancer.
Andrew appeared in one game against wiki editor Stewart Gordon.

Great shame, i remember him well, had a huge smile and chuckled his way through the whole programme when he was on. A really terrific kid. Very sad news.

Sad new but
"We knew Andrew had a limited time, but we never told him," said Keren of Dalkeith Avenue, Marton.
He was 16 - they're allowed to withhold this?

I was sorry to hear this news. Andrew was far too young to lose his life but, as they say, God acts in mysterious ways. Rest in peace young man and condolences to the family.

Total news to me, even though he was one of my opponents. And I don't know how I managed to miss his wiki page being updated.
But nobody seems to have got round to getting his Facebook profile memorialised. And speaking of his Facebook activity, I wonder how he knew John and Edward before the current series of X Factor even started.
RIP Andrew.
