Spoilers For Wednesday October 14th 2009

Steve seems to be wanting to become an octochamp the hardest way possible based on his last 2 shows.

Luck on 2 numbers games on Monday saw him through and yesterday, he looked dead and buried until Colin bombed in the last 3 rounds.

He has a nice neat 500 points from his first 6 shows, so his average is currently worse than Jeffrey's at the moment. (If worse sounds too strong, just replace it in your head with "lower".)

He'll stay #5 seed whatever happens today, although if he breaks every point scoring record going, he could be the #1 seed!

I think the words "wishful" and "thinking" spring to mind.

I was quite surprised in round 9 where the contestants had STRANGE and Susie didn't add insult to injury and said you could stick an E on the front for ESTRANGE for 8.

I was a bit busy on NPD things like running a Pigs Might Fly (http://www.pigmightflyfestival.co.uk ) workshop in the library and going to our Albert Poets pub reading where the very good Jacob Polley was on show - as well as Mike di Placido, David Borrott and Robert Powell. Then crawling into my cave .....

I heard Monday's raucous screamer at it again with Rachel's solutions for the first two numbers rounds, albeit a little quieter than on Monday. But for the final numbers round she seemed to have been silenced. Had Dudley sat on her?
