Spoilers for Thurs Oct 8th - National Poetry Day

Susie might get dented
Robinson might get squashed
An E might come out of the consonant box
Then someone might get koshed
There may be a chance to yell 'gandiseeg'
Or WANKERS be spelled out
Rachel might get riled
And give Stelling the Letch a clout
Damian might crack a smile
Kirk at home play bad
Kai might turn out to be a little girl
And not a little lad
There's all sorts that can happan
Countdown's always good
But one thing that's worth hoping for...
That Stephen doesn't get WOOD!

As soon as I realised this was rhyming I stopped reading.
Good old Countdown poetry

Excellent stuff. Love it!

Nice one, Sue!
Trying to be a poet
Wouldn't you know it
My muse has left me
To rhyme less deftly

Back at you JT!
It's a dilemma today,
If you've something to say,
Cos if it ain't proper rhythmical,
It'll be dissed as abysmical!

Anyone going to manage to make the spoilers themselves rhyme too?
Or at least write them poetically.

But is it a crime
If the poem don't rhyme

I think we all know,
That rhyming's the way to go,
It's a very useful tool,
To stop you looking an idiot.

Having to search through verses for the spoilers
Turns happy c4cers into toilers

Will it be win number 3 for Steve Wood
Or will his opponent be too good
lets hope todays game is not humdrum
I hope it goes to a crucial conundrum

I'm useless at making things rhyme,
Probably because I don't have the time.
Any spare time I get I play on apterous.
What's that? A darren? A spare cap for us!

If Kirk
Can make it work
The rest of the Crew(e)
Can make it work too.
Oh look - just for fun
I've included a trainspotter's pun

Joanne Finnety
To her infinite shame
Didn't spot FINITE
Though it's nearly her name

Liam and Chris act like spoilsports
thus, this; the best of my retorts
It's a polite reminder to rhyme
'cos seriously, it barely takes any time.

But I can't
be arsed.

In round 7 I found a beater,
Sat in the comfort of my room with a heater.
I didn't watch the show today you see,
Cus in the audience were Sid and me.
We watched it being recorded a few weeks ago,
James Robinson can tell you so.
GOPURAS is the word I can't wait to tell,
Now I'm going to go back into my shell.

Kirky Baby, you're so clever
Will you be mine forever and ever?
I'll mop your brow while Countdown's airing
And pack you up lunches for your loco staring
But there is one thing, it's a bitter pill
I fear I'll have to share you with Phil

Sue, I think you should study more nude artwork,
Then you'd be reminded how all those parts work,
You'll see you can share with Phil and Kirk,
And all three can still get to fill their perk.

I think, now you say it, I can imagine the game
It resembles a sort of daisy chain
But to make the loop bigger and join the extremes
We need to recruit someone who bats for both teams!

Today I could have had a max game
But I've only myself to blame
I feel like a dick wot
Tried to pluralise DIQUAT
Aint the mass noun rule a shame?

There once was a Countdowner from Peru
who said RESELECT, PRESAGES and KYANISE are nice equallers too.

I've something to say
But it's poetry day
So I'll follow the crowd
Would this be allowed?
MONOPOLAR - round 9.

There's never a need for questions like this
Unless you want people just taking the piss
To know if a word is allowed or is barred
Just visit
Lexplorer - it can't be that hard!

Moses! REPOSES unerroneously
(after a children's poem by (I think! - tried to look it up and failed) Michael Rosen)
Julie, as usual, a week behind,
posts it now when nobody minds.
Not a DC beater, but equal to Steve
In round 8, you can take or leave.

Kai Laddiman is amazing,
At poems that don't rhyme,
But they annoy Jeffrey Burgin,
Like, all the time.

Oh, dear Chris, a rhyme is what's needed, essential, a must, cos
National Poetry Day only comes once a year
And you've broken the sublime rhythm of rhyme, I do fear.
