Another new champion: Anthony Pinnell

Another new challenger: David Kurdynowski (who gave a nice introduction to himself in the Newbie section this morning)

Final day of John Inverdale in DC.

That's the basics done and dusted.

Hopefully, something much more interesting will be posted below.

There seems to be a case of deja vu all over again.

(Not really concentrating as I have another quiche in the oven - mustn't burn it today)

If he'd kept going he probably would have won.

I spoke to him after the match. He said he thought that 12 x 75 was 875, not 900, he had no clue until Rachel and I explained that he could have reached the 857 by the way you suggested.

I spoke to David afterwards as well, very nice guy. He originally thought I was the challenger on the first show the next day! Of course if David had carried on in the first numbers he could've said (9-2) x 6 = 42 + 875 = 917

A few other nice words:

Round 3 - TRANCED
Round 4 - EXCITES, EXCITED & DICIEST (another DC rubout)
Round 8 - ORBITED
Round 11 - TOPAZES & RIPOSTE (as contestant beaters only)
Round 12 - GERANIOL (as well as REGIONAL (already mentioned by Tim))

Nice show today. Some great spots, good close contest, two guys looking chuffed to be there, applauding each other's winners etc. Jeff, Rachel, Susie all on top of their game, always like John Inverdale. Really great stuff.

Just got back from the pub and watched it again. Can't believe how old I look on TV! I was more nervous about watching it with mates than at the recording, and I dont' remember Rachel wearing that tight short dress, which indicates how stressed I was!

Funnily enough when I was on and there was all the 'hubbub' over the pink and red dresses last week, I couldn't actually remember her looking that smoking either! What the hell were we thinking?

What exactly did Anthony declare in Rd 8? Didn't catch it at all.
