apterous tournament - Numbers Attack
Posted: Mon Sep 21, 2009 6:13 pm
by Charlie Reams
After the success of Ian's letters attack tournament, here's another one. Details:
* Games are to be 30-second Numbers Attacks.
* 5-round Swiss tournament, not knockout; every entrant is guaranteed 5 games.
* Entry closes at
23:00, Sunday 27 September 2009. Post in this thread to register. Entry is open to everyone.
* Each round of the tournament lasts one week, from 23:59 on Sunday to 23:00 the next Sunday.
* Pairings for the next round will appear sometime between these times, and will be posted in this thread. If a round is completed before the deadline (hopefully it will be), I may post the pairings early, but you will still have until the next Sunday to complete your game.
* Strictly no extensions. Any games unplayed by the deadline will be adjudicated at my discretion. If your opponent has repeatedly no-showed or is incommunicado, please email me to this effect, and I will take this into consideration.
* Please post the result of each game in here, including your name, your opponent's name, the score and a link to the game log on apterous.
*
Addition: Due to the unexpected popularity of the event, play will be divided into two divisions. Seedings and divisions will be based on ratings as at 00:45 on 22 September, so there's no tactical incentive to increase/decrease your rating before entering. Hopefully this will encourage players of all abilities to take part.

How do those stats work out if it's you being penetrated?

Good point. I'm such a sexofascist. Nevertheless, if you open up the stats to account for both directions of penetration, they still remain the same.

That gives a whole new meaning to the term 'hot spot'.

Wow, can't believe the response to this, 31 entrants in 31 hours. Good to see enthusiasm from players on from every point on the rankings. In the light of this, please note the above addition to the tournament structure: there will now be 2 divisions (or maybe more at this rate), partitioned by rating. More details nearer the time.
